Default Is Gambling A Good Medicine For Depression??

It seems if your down and out gambling might be a good pick up where it block your problems and might light a spark under your fukkin ass to get going again. When I am depressed I gamble to where I have lots of games going not necessarily lots of money on them but action so it numbs the depression.

No, because you will lose at some point and the depression would get worse.

Go see a doctor and get some happy pills instead.

Gambling {or being in action ** causes the body to produce dopamine. That alters the way the brain functions and can cause relief from depression in the short term.

Not a good idea. Gambling should be done only when you are 100% focused. Being too depressed - bad. Being too happy, loose, and confident - bad.

Very well said. Unless you get lucky and go on a run, no way gambling helps depression

It's a distraction. That being said, sometimes you can win with the distraction, then withdraw and meantime your problems get solved or go away and you feel like a big winner.
MUCH more likely scenario - feeling down makes you make off kilter decisions, you lose, and you feel like more shit than you started.
Oh and the Dopamine thing - nice post there.

I was feeling great when was 3-0 tonight and then Pitt went down -220 in the NHL or so and now Texas +4 looks bad so now I will break even which gets me back to feeling depressed.

    Do "roofies" help??.

Horrible for a depressed person - like anything else (drugs, booze, etc.) the "possible" high of winning, and thus dispelling all other worries, will be very short lived. When that person gets barrelled in like a cokk fukk, things are 100% worse....

i say no because i feel like there's a better chance it'll make the depression worse if you lose enough

Have you ever imagined how boring your life would be without betting?

You know sometimes gambling may be a reason for depression as well (specially during losing streaks, LoL!) but generally betting is the biggest anti-weapon against depression.

First of all, every day new means new games and new challenges to us. Every new day is a new hope and a new adventure. While watching a game, you forget everything else and your main focus is your bet.
