There is little doubt that JJGold (Hank Webber) has developed quite a name for himself across various handicapping circles. Why do you think JJGold is so famous/respected throughout the handicapping world?

JJ's (Hank's) lifetime handicapping experience really comes across when he shares information.
JJ (Hank) is a brilliant self-promoter and deserves his due credit as a result (a la Donald Trump).
JJ (Hank) has lived his life in such a way as to always command respect from his peers.
RESPECT HIM? THE ONLY REASON I EVEN LOOK AT HIS THREADS AT ALL IS TO FADE HIS SORRY ASS!
JJ profiles himself as a losing gambler. This is unusual. Most gamblers lose, but will do anything to avoid making that their CV. JJ shows the darker side of gambling, which, I suppose, can be therapeutic for those who try hard not to acknowledge the oozing black hole at the center of their universe.
But there is flip side to the coin. Nothing he posts focuses on better handicapping. It is almost as if he advertises a losing approach to gambling. He's the funny kid in the front of the class who makes everybody laugh, but never makes the grade.
I appreciate JJ for who he is, but I also think that too much emphasis on his approach to gambling may set the tone on this forum to the point where more serious handicappers would rather find another forum to share their handicapping skills and systems.

reading my first JJGold post in Fall of '03 brought tears to my eyes (his hour by hour account of what he did in a normal day). probably 20X better than sex

JJ has nothing to do with "The Industry." He draws attention to himself with ghosts and a few kiddies on forums get sucked in.
I have been betting for a living for 4.5 years and I have been in contact with many professionals that whole time. The idea that any of those clever, creative, hard-working people would be looking to jjgold for industry information is beyond ludicrous. It would be like Eric Clapton looking to Paris Hilton for tips on the music industry.

I wrote this before so I think it worth writing again. Trust me fellows JJ is a good guy. He knows his stuff....he plays dumb like he has no idea what he is doing. It's like the movie Usual Suspects....it's JJ who is getting the last laugh and you guys are the suckers who think otherwise.
When I first started posting I was very turned off by him and got into a lot of fights with him. Seemed like he was wasting his time all day with meaningless threads and posts....but some time after he stopped posting at SBR, I had an opportunity re-read some of his writings on gaming theory and found them brilliant and way of ahead of his times. The guy certainly has a knack for irritating people, not sure if this is deliberate or not, but reflecting on his contributions to the gaming industry there is no way that you can't consider this guy a luminary the likes of which we won't see for some time. I would probably consider him one of the top two or three gaming posters of our generation, a sort of gaming forum poster pioneer. I would say that when he posts pay very careful attention to what he has to say because his advice is not unconditional.

As Buddybear said, jjgold is way ahead of his time. He has produced a number of theories which fly in the face of all current mathematical and statistical opinion - just like any revolutionary scientist he's finding new angles against the current consensus. Take his theory on the martingale system:

Do YOU think you can profit using...
Either he's way ahead of his time and producing a new theory which is against all current thinking. Or conversely, he talks out of his arse. In order to help you with your decision, bear in mind that raiders thinks that martingale is a "100% winning system" as well.

Guys I can call any top offshore book and get the gambling heads instantly. They all know me well, I have moved for Walters, had my own syndicate and of course booked in Vegas legally. My outlaw lines are very respected, I am somewhat flamboyant and love to flirt and show myself off which at times irks people, some guys don't like that I am in tune with myself and comfortable in all situations. Like many other pros I have had bad losing times and nice winning times.
I have lived in different places from Mansions to Basements and hung with all the big timers from Barry Manilow to walking the streets of CR with Mickey of Cris with my mink on. I have butted heads with top forum owners and book owners alike.
You will not see guys like me and Sick Gambler every again, both posting pioneers and both very dedicated to this profession. I do move players pretty good from book to book with my posts if needed and have been compared to Ross Perot.
My home base is Newark and hang with lots of Brothers and Italians and a legend with kids around the area . The hookers love me as do the pimps. I am good looking and sharp dressing most of the time. My favorite thing to do is get kids out of school and then we go the track in my van and have fun gambling all day.
The legend stories are true about me going on rooftops and throwing at bazooka bubble gum to kids, wearing my bow-an-arrow uniform in the streets of Newark, hitting baseballs off buildings to figure wind direction to get an edge and of course the great grab ass games we have had in locker rooms.
I love you guys and spend most of my time on forums and trying to groom some of my young friends to carry the torch one day. We are trying to get into more videos now to send our messages out.
I know the industry inside and out and my book ratings are the best in the world
