Default Matchbook recently downgraded from A- to B on SBR - Reasons?

I noticed that on 12/31/09 MB was downgraded at sportsbookreview.com - does anyone know the reasons?

As a common user of MB - just didnt know if I was missing something that I should know about.

    Thanks

Forget it - bounced over to the Sportsbook forum here and see a few posts on it.

    Sorry for the duplicate thread.

me too i'd like to have an update.. my bal got a bit too high for my liking there, and i just requested a book to book transfer and it was done in about 40 minutes, so that's positive news regarding matchy.

i just wish it picks up a bit. it's IMPOSSIBLE to get any hockey bet down at matchy, even at a crappy price. they get accepted, but it's rare. not like the good old days of matchy in 2007 or so.. even NBA is not what it once was.

i pray to GOD that bases will be at least as good as last yr and hope it don't turn into NHL.. that would be a nightmare.

    1) They stopped advertising on SBR!
    2) Website instability
    3) Slow grading of wagers
    4) Reduced liquidity

we can sit here and say all the bad things we want about matchy, but without them, we are all fukked. there will be a lot more losing gamblers without them..

typical situation we get every freakin day at matchy..

    Cris/Oly... -120/even

    Pinny....-118/+108

Matchy... offer is -116/+114.. you offer +115 and 95% it is getting matched, esp if you bet small.

so now you have +115, PLUS are getting +0.2% on top of that..... instead of +108 at pinny and instead of even at cris and oly.

now you tell me if Matchy is not king..

It really sucks what's happened to matchy, one of the best options for US sports bettors has really gone downhill

Not sure what they need to do to get things turned back around but I wish theyd do it

MB, even at a "b" rating will always be better than all the shit books out there.

Liquidity so far on NCAAB has been fukin awful, 10 cent lines on everything even an ESPN game couple nights ago 10 mins before gametime (Cincy/Pitt) with 200 bucks on each side and with the 1% charge its more like a 12-13 cent lines

i gave up on NCAAB.. forget it.. 11 bucks each way avail 4 min to tip off.. i don't even look at NCAAB anymore. been 1 month since i've even gone there..

NHL is not too far from NCAAB either. it might be just as bad, or if not, worse.. and I love NHL.. it's my bread and butter.

Nicky, NHL is bad at Matchy. I thought it was bad last year, but this year it is awful.

Great if you only want to bet $5.

it's great also if you bet 5$ and into 13 cent NHL lines..

2 days ago, there was a line at pinny that was -132/+122 i believe. i wanted fav, so i put up an offer of -126, no one budged.. -127, no one budged.. same with -128, -129, -130.. it was frustrating.. you'd think someone would jump on +130.. line was +122 at pinny.

then i got really mad cause i wanted this game, and offered -131.. now i know for sure somone will grab +131, no?? it's +122 at pinny and +115 everywhere.. i left it for 12 minutes and not 1 person took a cent from it.. no one wanted +131.. go figure.. and this was at game time..

no one wants any NHL action there..

I dont bet NHL but just looked and the liquidity on NHL appears poor but still much better than NCAAB, NCAAB right now is just a waste of time, like 12-13 cent lines after commission and you can usually save 5-10 cents on NCAAB 20 cent lines anyway just by shopping around traditional books without the difficult deposit methods, payout fees and commission credit stuff with matchy

It's hard to understand why more ppl dont play at matchy when paying lower juice is going to either make them lose less or win more

slow grading? isn't automated grading software out there? should be the standard. i will never forget 7 years ago when an A book misgraded a 100 doller bet. fortunately i caughtt it

Matchy is as good as it gets.

I realize the reduced liquidity sucks, but as Sicky Nicky said, all gamblers would lose more money w/o them.

    Fact.

The software is, of course, available but Matchy say that they have to grade wagers manually.

Betfair has 100+ times the volume of Matchbook and wager grading is automated and generally done in minutes.

Nicky let me tell you why it is garbage. I can't get a bet in 2 minutes before tip unless I'm a jerkoff that bets 5.00 a gmae. If I want to bet my 220.00 or 330.00 there is no action for me. I can't get obscure CBB totals. I can't even get all the games I want. The volume sucks. I am an old school bettor and exchanges aren't for me. They never will be.

I'm fairly new to exchanges but I like the concept . It seems to me that most sit around and wait for opportunities which will not really help any exchange . More people need to offer , maybe they're pulling away from having to fill up the events themselves . Maybe .

MB is 2nd in the posters poll of all books - but is a B.

That doesnt make sense to me.

Matchbook is a must-have for every sports bettor in my opinion.
