Question Is the Spurs-Suns series the de facto world championship?

In other words, will the Spurs-Suns winner end up winning the world title this year?

I voted NO because it is only true if the Spurs win.

If the Suns win this series, then I like Detroit. Defense wins Championships.

It's a great series but I don't think either of these teams can sweep Detroit. Curious to see what the moneyline on Phoenix & San Antonio would be against Detroit.

No, if the Suns win, the Jazz will be in the Finals.

Many of us on this forum called the Spurs v. Suns the "NBA Finals" before it even started.

No disrespect intended, but this thread is a week too late.

This kind of thing could be avoided if only the NBA would follow the lead of the NFL and NHL and reshuffle the seeds at the end of each round. That way, the Suns (highest seed after Mavs went out) would be playing Warriors (lowest seed) this round and Spurs would be playing Jazz, thus setting up possible Suns/Spurs West Final.

If the Suns win they win the NBA championship. Pistons would probably get the better of the aging Spurs.

Yeh don't sell short Utah. I think Suns are just too powerful though.

Just because Utah is beating GS that doesn't make them serious contenders. GS matched up exceptionally well with Dallas, which made them overrated.

Both the Suns and Spurs will eat GS for breakfast.

my knowledge of NBA is for sure below average here
but about 2 months ago i told at another forum that UTA wins NBA /+2600 i guess/ and i am not changing opinion
they are universal team which is MOST imporatant factor for winning
they prove that have mental strenght /series in HOU, this last win at GSW, the incredible tie in GM2... yes refrees helped them a lot, but they did not win it for them/

Of course not. Utah was serious contenders before the playoffs started. But, beating a miniature version of Phoenix really helps, and it of course helps that the Jazz will have plenty of rest before the Suns or Spurs series, while they likely play 7 games.

Jazz are rooting for suns so they can stick with game plan with GS. I thkn they loose against Spurs who are better at the same style of ball
