Default OT -- think Paris will actually spend time in Jail?

Paris is due to begin her 45 day sentence in the LA County Jail on June 5th. What do you think the chances are she serves even 1 day? You'll get my market after two responses.

    Somewhere between 2% and 5%.

Yes, she doesn't have a legal leg to stand on.

Whether or not she gets released early for over crowding reasons is another issue.

I think she's 70-80% to spend at least one day in jail.

Better yet, what are the odds on this being an orchestrated career move? The girl is only famous for being an out of control idiot, and this can't hurt things.

Schadenfreude aside, I can't help but think that Paris is to at least some extent being targeted due to her celebrity ...

Possibly, but I assume that when sentencing there is a minimum and a maximum sentence that can be handed down - as long as what she got was within those boundaries then it's fair game.

Added to that, the sentence should be a punishment and a deterrent - slapping her with a $1 million fine would do neither. Sticking her in jail would satisfy both of them.

I don't claim to know anything more about the story than the headline, but it just seems to me that this is just the sort of crime that should (and my uneducated guess is that in situations without so (in)famous a defendant often would) be addressed with community service.

Even if she goes to jail she will be isolated with her large screen plasma tvs, surround sound system, and catered meals. However, money buys all and I expect her attorneys to play dirty and secretly reveal to the judge a 40 year old affair to get her released.

Haha, yeah, most of us would probably trade our everyday lives for her "jail" time.

I don't know about that...we'll see. She's probably got half the place gunning for her and the other half want feel exactly the opposite way, if you know what I mean.

Many are saying with good time, etc., she would probably do 5 - 7 days. Which is not bad, knowing that book deals, movies are in it's makings.
