Default Jason Bay to the mets 4 years 66 million

saw this earlier while at the gym. good deal for him, Glad to see former "good guy" Pirates get paid and play for winners.

He might be very close to starting to decline though, hopefully he has a few more good years in him

He'll hit .250 and be lucky to get 25 homers playing in that shit hole park. Good for him, he got paid a ton. Bad deal for the Mets

very bad deals for the mets. Jason Bay is a good play but doesnt not deserve that type of money.

maybe one of the worst arms in leftfield in the majors, a bit injury prone, strikes out too much.... good guy though

was happy to see him get a shot at postseason play with the bosox, i'm sure he'll be in the pennant chase this year. with a healthy Beltran, Wright, Reyes, and Bay the mets will have a pretty decent year

Bay played huge early but was so pedestrian when it counted for us (the Sox), seems to fit into the Mets profile all too well. Enjoy that guys.

really? based on 3 games? did you forget the year before where he hit well over .300 with like a 1.100 ops

they might want to consider moving him to first base, he will be a huge liability in a spacious right field

Mets just keep overpaying for guys past there prime. There pitching staff is still a mess along with there bullpen. Look for the mets to finish 4th in the nl east behind phillies, braves, and Marlins.

Shortstop nailed this guy, he watches WAY to many 3rd strikes and will get exposed for not having an arm. Average ball player at best he does not deserve this money

Nice player, although he has his flaws, and they did overpay to get him.

Mets need arms more than anything, but not really anyone worth spending their money on, unless they want to take a shot on Chapman, who probably won't help much in 2010.

At least they didn't use this money on Pineiro. That would have been ugly.

this was a signing of a GM that needed to make a big splash now.... he doesn't care that they'll be on the hook for all that money in 2012 and 2013 when Bay is hitting .250 with 15 hr's.

Especially when you consider that Omar will be gone by then anyway, he REALLY doesn't care!

Nothing beats the money Brian Giles earned after the Pirates traded his ass to SD for Bay. Giles production was actually funny for the type of money they gave him. The Met's can afford to overpay for a decent OF with Bay, but with a small market team like the Padres, they got the Giles SHAFT. Whats funny is, the Mets got both players the Pirates got for Giles.

Carlos Zambrano could be headed our way in a trade. Cubs seem to want to trade for Castillo, and a prospect(s), namely Martinez.
