yah i saw a commercial for that here in Los Angeles. That better not happen.. and i doubt time warner would risk a lot of customers leaving. This happened to me when i was living in Austin, Tx last year. They cancled nbc... i was like wtf? couldn't watch anymore sunday night football or the office. After tons of people were complaining and canceling, time warner put it back up.

If it happens, i doubt it'll last long.

I have TW in socal as well. I just called them to complain about losing FOX. I don't mind canceling with them and using someone else, but I already paid $150 for a year of NHL center Ice

They dont force you to have their service??? In most areas you have no choice! Twc comes with hoa fees, so you are screwed. In the woods and rural areas, there is no other option. So they just shovel shit onto the tv and you either eat it or just pay for a turned off tv.

Time Warner is Brighthouse. All of Time Warner is in jeopardy of losing Fox and all Fox stations due to contract negotiations. I think that the deadline is this coming Saturday. Glad I went to Verizon FIOS.

Unreal, canceling a major channel like that? In NJ, have Verizon now, did have Comcast but switched last year cause they didn't offer ESPNU and price was going sky high! All we wanted was a few dollars a month off the bill! Lady on the phone told me "do whatever you must". Saved $900-1000 in first year for promo offer from Verizon!

I knew it was coming that the cost now is only slightly lower than Comcast apple for apple! Where we live Comcast had a monopoly on cable for 20 years and liked to stick to everyone! Funny thing now is they're offering a promo that would save me the same amount of money that Verizon did for one year? Both companies use the same inside cable wires. Email address would go back and forth, but son said just start using gmail. Not the type to do crap like this, but sounds enticing?

In regards to the dishs on the roof, some people here I hear have reception problems depending on the weather? Is that true with anybody that has DirectTV or the like?

Around here, it's TimeWarner/Sinclair Broadcasting that is trying to renegotiate its channel fees every 3 years. We lost Fox and CBS for a few months three years ago when this happened, and the local cable company finally gave in to their ridiculous demands and raised the rates on their customers who hadn't left already.

Three years later, the dbags are asking for double what they held out for before. Lots of smaller cable companies are complaining to the FCC about the price hikes, but who knows if it will actually get anywhere.

Um you do know you can watch FOX regardless of whether Time Warner carries it?

As long as you have digital converter box (free with gov voucher) you can watch overthe air channels for free.

But Fox is the bad guy here. They are demanding $1 per subscriber while other channels charge 50 cents or less. If they cave in then CBS, NBC, ABC will follow suit and demand the same which will raise your rates.

I would either go with Dish Network or Direct TV.
