Default Connecticut AG ends NYRA's Internet plan

AG Richard Blumenthal with one letter forced NYRA to drop Connecticuut from its Internet betting program launched on Wednesday. NYRA claims they checked the laws and "missed something."

I don't think Connecticut has an Internet gambling ban, but the AG is implying existing laws and NYRA folded faster than a 20-1 shot at Aqueduct.

Funny thing is Connecticut has two of the biggest casinos in the country, huge state lottery, plus a phone OTB betting system that takes bets from about a dozen states. This "protecting compulsive gamblers" line from Blumenthal is nonsense since horse players can bet over the phone and reload using their ************. Just make sure they can't use the Internet, just the phone. Wow.

Blumenthal also said online bettors could face charges.

Racing is just about done, all these companies fighting with each other killed the game.

AQU and Belmont are just about ready to close because lack of attendance, many other tracks in USA are on the verge of bankruptcy.
