I just signed up for the sbr christmas point contest. it is run by LooseLines so i made an account there. within 3 and a half minutes the guy calls me up. funny thing is, when my phone rang, the caller ID said "BLOCKED". since all sportsbooks call you on private, i instantly knew this was the looselines guy. so he does the standard ophone procedure and asks me if i was interested in depositing tonight so i can catch some action on the late game. i felt bad for him cuz he sounded all depressed. i could picture him sitting in the looselines offices waiting and getting all excited when a new member signs up.

I hope for their sake that they do well during the holiday season, just not from me

calling right after you open an account anywhere is smart business. Some might not need help getting started but most do or have a few questions that could use answering or help getting a deposit through etc.

If you don't want to be called, simply tell them rather than complain where the call seems to be coming from or how often they call. Spend a few seconds to let any company know that you wish not to be called. It will save you all sorts of aggravation and needless complaining.

Remember there is a lot of fraud out there. Any reasonable business would want to know their customer, especially at the beginning. Then arrange a no call policy if you wish.

Imagine you get referred to a local bookie in your city. You think he'll want to know you telephone number? Or where you live?

Same goes for an offshore book. If I owned one, and I couldn't confirm the new account either by phone, e-mail or some other way, I would close or suspend the account till I could.

Yup I have zero problem with books calling right after opening an account. I have found that they are cool with it if you don't deposit right away. Just tell them what's up. Its good customer service on their end. That is not to say that I haven't had very negative experiences with book agents before, just not recently.
