Going to be in Las Vegas for the first weekend of March Madness. Anybody know where to find some good deals on hotel rooms?

It depends what you consider a good deal. Would you rather get a $29 a night room at a 2 star roach hotel or a $99 a night deal at a 5 star hotel? They are both great deals. You just get what you pay for.

Go to the websites for the hotels you are interested in - signup for their email alerts. They are always offering better deals than their posted rates.

If you want cheap and good location stay at Imperial Palace


If you want to stay in one of the more upscale hotels do what philswin said.

There are plenty of websites offering cheap hotels. Some even offer some great deals. Google cheap Las Vegas tickets and you will see some good sites.

Would rather a 5 star than a 2 star for sure..

That's funny, that's when I always go to Vegas too... well, I'm usually there right when the sweet sixteen gets going... the weather is great once it gets to late March.

Anyway, are you going to gamble? A lot? If so, you will get taken care of -- make sure you get a Player's Card so that they see how you gamble by keeping track... and then you keep checking with the host or with VIP services to see what they can do for you or take off your bill...

E.g., I stay at the Mandalay Bay every year, which is a friggin' awesome hotel, and I get at least two nights comped plus a couple more nights at very cheap casino rates of like $79 a night. I am a complete pauper, but I gamble like a high roller and they love that. (I usually win, however, or break even, which they don't love.)

If you don't gamble much, or gamble $5 at a time, none of the above applies.

Yeah, I get crazy offers from this place -- free nights, cheap nights, etc. -- so it's a great mid-range sort of option for you. MGM Grand as well.

I went through Expedia.com got 4 nights/ 5days at the MGM Grand and round trip plane ticket for $310 person. My girlfriend also went...This was last week also

I stay at the Mandalay every Sept they will hook you up during the week but really jack up the price on the weekends and will not move off those prices. Sometimes I come in the on weekend and stay at cheaper hotel (Like Luxor) and go to Mandalay Sun - Friday. Awesome pool area

Yeah, even if you don't stay at Mandalay, get your a$$ over to the pool complex there -- it's gigantic and sick. There's a casino at it too, looking out over the beach/pool, with hot dealers in bikinis! (However I don't think the casino out there opens until late March/early April.)
