I don' t think they'll close in the next 5 years, let alone in the next 30 days.

Cris is in it for the long haul, I think. Why?

    1. They are distancing themselves from the US market. This is a long-term strategic decision.
    2. Their business model makes it hard to lose money. Full juice, reasonable bonuses.
    3. They have competent lines managers. Wise guys won't destroy them.

    Just my $0.02.

Their name comes up too often in law enforcement busts - this last time may be the proverbial "straw"

The owner of CRIS was busted and did 3 years and the book didnt miss a beat back in 2001. CRIS owns their own 7 story office building close to the SBR office. One of their employees was elected to the CR congress in the last election. If that wasn't enough they have a decent product mix between sports, casino, horses and poker and a healthy international business. This is an A+ book. There is always the risk they could move away from the US market.

Beaver Inc is a company we run and based like a stock website where we buy and sell books. We are now bearish on Cris.

    Very bullish on Matchbook

It is very silly to say "why do I need CRIS when I have... (insert better book like Matchbook here)." They are different. If you want what CRIS has to offer, you want CRIS. If not, don't bother. They are certainly 'part of a balanced gambling portfolio' as it were, if you consider them to continue to have A+ security after Arizona.

I highly doubt Cris is going anywhere and I also doubt they are going to leave the US market... They had their chance to leave and put up ANOTHER site instead which costs money... I can see Matchbook being a better deal but WSEX..? I thoiught they were full juice like Cris but without the loyality program... What's the advantage in WSEX over Cris..?

WSEX is more consistent than Cris and more financially stable.

CRIS puts up early lines. If you're on the right side of line moves more often than not you'll pay -110 because you catch enough one and two point moves to make it a good deal.

WSEX does offer no rake poker from the same account...not a sports betting advantage, but worth mentioning...WSEX also offers -104 pre-event wagering on the games they do live betting on.

IMHO, it is NOT silly... I'd rather play with a book not in the newspaper connected to people getting busted.

CRIS has survived numerous pinches including the owner going to the joint for a few years. Never missed a beat. And now a few credit agents getting pinched is going to make a difference? Not going to happen.

Sam, I respect that reason. It's perfectly valid. I was just talking about those who felt the book has nothing to offer. Certainly there are downsides.
