Scalping isn't what it use to be nowadays. Not to mention you have to figure in the stability of the books you use during these trying times even as a non-U.S. citizen.

a few books give 10%, if you need a bonus though you should not be gambling, scalping not worth it and chump change.

If you don't expect to win without the bonus, you're wasting your time. If you do, there's no reason not to also pick up a bonus.

There are some affiliate sites that offer 100% bonuses at some european books. The max bonus is usually 30 euro - 50 GBP, but theres only a 2-3x rollover, which is basically free money.
Its not much, but there are about 10 different books offering this. So if your a very small player it could be worth it.
Just do a google search for bwin bonus or betfair bonus and all the affiliates offering larger bonuses will come up

Bonus scalping is not worth it while 'the usual' scalping is impossible unless you're a programmer which wants to devote his whole profesisonal life to scalping. Scalps disappear in a split second now.

Last year I made over 29000 USD doing Bonuses and straight arbs. Thanks to the US Government this is now a thing of the past. Squareshooter is right though I have been restricted with numerous books last year even Olympic who don't like steam players.

They said I could only bet if I phoned my bets in. You and I both know that you have seconds to place your bet otherwise the arb is gone. They thought I was using Dons Best Program but I am a self made arb GURU. I am really quick with numbers and they froze my account. They let me withdraw my money but warned me to bet over the phone only with them. I made a little on the re-load bonus but didn't over do it. I tried to always lose with them and for awhile it was going good but then I had a ripper month and won 7-10 bets of 1100 in a row and that was the beginning of the end.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I've tried the whole arbing thing actually, it wasn't for me. Those lines tend to whizz by in a flash, don't they...
Thing is, what I've been doing is that I move from book to book to juice on the sign-ups. I'm not, as most of you would have figured, a black belt capper...
I'm placing maybe 5 - 6 bets a day and end up a couple of units plus per month. And whatever bonuses I've gone through on top of that.
What I'm trying to get my head around is If I'd be better off just sticking with the better vig at the rate I'm betting. I know I'm placing maybe a bet or two too many. Should narrow it down a little but it seems that at my current skill level, I'm making better money spreading the risk a bit.
So the question really is, at around 170 bets a month, am I better off sticking with Pinny rather than hunting bonuses at -110 books? Ideas anyone?

i only used my own. I got lucky with quite a few half point gaps that went my way. Also when I was learning the trade as this was my first year you make the odd mistake here and there. With these I probably won nearly 70% of those. I made 1000 USD when Mansion had there NFL free bet. And so on. Really the majority of my winnings came in the second half of the year when I got better at arbing.

I agree with all of you... Arbing and playing with bonuses is not what it used to be and is definately not worth it... I am going to try scalping college football next year though... I am going to place all my wagers at Cris or whoever puts the lines out first then throughout the week scalp it back the other way and hoping for a huge middle window... In college football those lines really move and you can get pretty big windows...

Well we'll see...right now I am just playing $300 a game but for College football I am hoping to play $5K on each side... I can guess line moves but that as you all know doesn't mean you can guess who is going to cover... If it moves against me I will cover my lose but as long as I get more right then wrong with big enough windows... NO ONE BET will move a line in college football like it moves... Some move double digits and that is through out the week... It's like playing the futures market (financials)....

It's very profitable and lots of guys make a great living scalping.
As far as using bonuses you'll see more and more books trying to promote their new funding method and they'll give you a huge bonus to entice you.

It's much easier for Europeans to scalp because they still have Pinny. You need books with big limits.you can not last as a scalper unless you can completely change your id once in a year or so, can you?
I guess I should add that you have to try and middle along with pure scalps. You really do have to know the value of a 1/2 point at each particular line.
If you want to use more than one ID then use it at some crap book that are easily beatable and forget about scalping. Just don't get caught and say that your brother lives in the same household which is why the IPs match.
