Personally if I look at any side of any spread for a long time, I can find reasons to think it might be the right side. Particularly with big favorites, it is so easy to imagine all the good things they are capable of when the pieces come together.

I think a lot of bettors think that way and that's why lines get driven increasingly out of whack with the true expectation as the number gets larger.

By my system, I have Carolina plus the points as a 55% pick. I consider that a good edge but it leaves 45% on the other side so the Pats are definitely very possible.
