Highest finish by a defensive player in many a year...
And for that, he should be congratulated!

OK , but... His one game against Tex is why he was touted. I think 1/3 of his sacks came in that one gm
and , he isnt the most nominate D player in NCAAF. Saying that is a joke

He played that way all year. He only started getting recognition after the Texas game because that game was on national tv. Tough to take in account the production of a defensive lineman if you only look at stats and not the actual game. Guy was dominant all year.

"Donkeykong Suh"? That's pretty clever...It's borderline racist, but it's pretty clever

I totally agree. In fact, it is almost unheard of for a defensive tackle to have 82 tackles (23 of those tackles for loss) 12 sacks, an interception (along with several passes defended) and three blocked kicks. Suh was dominant in every game he played, whereas Ingram was dominant in spurts. I think Ingram got it only because Alabama was unbeaten and playing for a "championship" - combining that with the fact that an Alabama player had never won the award. If you took Ingram off of Alabama, they would probably still be playing for a "championship" because of the depth behind him at his position. If you took Suh off of Nebraska, then they probably wouldn't be playing in a bowl game, as anemic as their offense is, and there is no one at this point behind Suh on defense that is close to being as dominant as he is. I will say this though....I'm happy that Colt McCoy didn't get it because he is overhyped, and benefits heavly from playing in that spread offense, and thank goodness the most overrated player in the history of college football in Tim Tebow didn't get it either (He's already got one anyway). I can't wait until he starts playing on Sunday's. He's going to in for a rude awakening when he goes up against guys who are much bigger, faster, and stronger than he is, and if some team drafts him to play QB, then God help them. Him and his weak arm are going to be throwing bags-full-of-kittens as passes, and that certainly won't cut it in the NFL.

Not only will Suh laugh all the way to the bank as the number one pick in the NFL Draft, he will also, by far, have the better NFL career - better than any of the other Heisman nominees (Tebow, McCoy, Gerhart) and winner (Ingram)

You're right. The Heisman is usually given undeservedly to the offensive player who will end up wetting the bed at the next level.

Perhaps you dont understand the meaning of winning the Heisman. You should petition the Heisman Committee and seek a change

I would much rather seek a change with the whole BCS system, and the lack of a playoff system. I have much bigger fish to fry with that.
Look, lets not kid ourselves - Majority of the Heisman winners over the last couple of decades, had no business winning the award. It's a career achievement award for the most part. More often than not, it is given to the player who didn't really have the better season. It always helps, when the player is playing at a high profile school, and the fact that Mark Ingram plays at Alabama, and his team is playing for the "Championship", and also the fact that the Heisman had never gone to an Alabama player, put Ingram over the top with most of the voters. However, there is no way in hell that Ingram had a better statistical season than Suh or Gerhart. There's no way in hell that Ingram was more valuable to his team than Suh and Gerhart were to their respective teams. However, I am happy that McCoy or Tebow (again) didn't get it. I can't wait until those two get a serious beating on Sunday's next fall

Being on a 9-4 team hurt him as much as being a defensive player IMO...
