Default Question for those who use Matchbook...

    For those who use matchbook:

Do most of you make offers or accept offers?

What percentage would you say you do of either?

I am trying to see if what I think is true, that most dont make offers. I have a feeling that most wait until there is an offer up there to accept, and dont necessarily ever make offers. This is based upon my observations of how the money gets matched there. I could be totally wrong.

Just curious as to how people strategize.

    Thanks.

So what percentage of dollars that you match would you say are your offers vs accepted offers?

    I would say mine are:

    40% my offers
    60% accepted offers

And if you had to break that down in to percentages of dollars - what would it be?

Im actually trying to get a better grasp on how people use it and how that information can be used as intelligence to get better pricing.

    Thanks

I do the same thing. Mostly everyone I know does this too. I would say around 70% of the time your offers are accepted. Depending on how much you bet that is.

It depends on what the offer is. If books have the line at -110 and you put it up at +100 the offer will be picked up. The more you move towards -110, the bigger the chance it will be left on the board.

I think a lot of people at Matchbook misunderstand liquidity. They try to get +105, only to have to settle for -110 at a book when the offer is left on the board.

I don't have the time to sit and watch offers. I treat them like any other out.
