What decides who wins a Division?

For instance, if New England and Miami both have 9 wins each after the regular season, who wins the AFC east division?

The team that has the better record within the division.

actually the first tie break for the divisional lead would be head to head record...so if team A won both games between A and B... A would win the division even if A's record within the division was 4-4 and team B's was 6-2

2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
