    Thank you Capybara, Its an honest response, I don't pretend to be a big shot or anything, and to be honest poker is not too profitable online for me these days but I still get a boost from home games.

    Haven't gone to see the Road yet, but got enough positive feedback that I will do so this weekend.

    GC, it's a good point -- it's possible that a higher % than I thought ARE able to sustain themselves with just betting. But everyone knows that nearly all gamblers are ultimately losers, so I still say most people are just blowing smoke. If I'm wrong, then hats off to those who don't have to work.

    As for Illini's post, I'm pretty sure that's a "sarcastic" response. Anyone who knows differently, let me know, for my final grading of this thread!

    Capy good thread. I'm seeing a lot of guys that make cash playing poker. I know guys who do it at card houses. I know if i find a good side or total, go and hammer it. I'm good for the month, and i can sit here and yap with you shmucks. I've found it pays more than crime too, so shit.

    But i'm not sure that would be an 'occupation'

    i think illini's serious. He's said before he has a group home for adult tards. I think that's pretty cool. Because, it sucks when they (or i could say we) get thrown in with the lowlifes.

    The thing about being a pro gambler, is that you can't really part time it. You can sleep in, but you gotta be on top of things all day. It's kind of a full time gig. But you have to be a real degenerate. There doesn't seem to be a way to swoop in, nail bets, and skate. If you try, you get burned because you don't have a feel for the last minute line shifts and changes. So, it's an occupation, or it's just an expense.
