sorry to bother you !! i have been on this site now for quite a few days, trying to recover my $$$$ that they owe me. and i don't understand this "chargeback" idea. i guess my question is.... if i used a debit card when i sent my money to them, and did not charge my credit card, can i get that money back? and my other question is, if i did a charge back and got my money back...... what would happen if i get my check in the mail next week from them ?? thanks for your help !!! scott in california

Scott,

If you used a debit card then the money is put in your account within 24 hours. Make sure it is classified as "funds not received" because that is what it is, it is not fraud.

I told my bank i was using a third party account (like paypal) and my funds were frozen.


I look at it like this. I am not trying to rip anyone off, I will write Jazette a check for what i owe.

I have been waiting for a check from SB since early March, they keep giving me the run around. I placed a lot of money into my SB account in Febuary, with my bank debit card.

Seems as if you were able to get your bank to do chargebacks easily with your debit card? is it easier than with credit cards? Do you think I could do it with charges places 2-months back?

debit card is harder than credit card. banks ask you ton of questions...you better be prepared. credit card companies are pretty easy to deal with.

Its a Visa debit card, think that will give me any leverage?
