    Trip to Vegas

So I'm thinking about taking a trip to Vegas in September it will be my first time out there and I was wondering is it really worth spending the money that it's going to cost! So far round trip and hotel is going to be $1800 from a Thursday till Monday 2 people! That's not including bets and food! Just wanting to see what the general public is thinking about a trip to Vegas

You're paying too much for your room.

    Re-name your thread.

Rooms get expensive also if Vegas is hosting a large event

Stay at the Palazzo, all the rooms are suites and it's newer than Venetian

Eat at Grand Lux cafe, great restaurant

If you can play poker, stick to poker

Go to the Spearmint Rhino with a few hundred in 20s

Hooker watch at Caesar's Palace around Cleopatras bar late at night

Not much beats the grove on gameday though

Vegas is awesome. I love Vegas.

My recommedation is if you want to do it cheap stay at hooters for like $28 bucks a night. They have the best Hooters food ive ever had and a nice pool and $3 roulette and black jack.

But if you want a more fancy hotel i recommend the Wynn, Mandalay Bay, Mirage or the Palms

In Vegas its impossible to get bored and you really do get a lot of bang for buck.

Only place in the mainland i'd probably rather travel is colorado or washington for the legalized bud among the good food and snow boarding, mountain biking , MLB , NFL games etc...

So many squares in this thread as far as Vegas

You never stay on the strip you stay in lower and motels in North Las Vegas and keep your costs very low

You never eat on the strip

Plenty of nice places off the strip

I stayed at plenty of motels where pimps and hookers were it was only like $21 a night

It's not dangerous and the rooms are small but nice and you get cable TV

Don't be a square and pay a lot of money for a room and food in Vegas

The more you save the more you can gamble

Can't stay at hooters for less than $40 aymore.
At least not on the weekends. They still have the $3 BJ though.

This is actually spot on. Spending $50 a day on a room that you should be spending 5-6 hours a day in, is counter-productive.
You should be going to Vegas to make $ not throw it away.

Not sure about low end hotels but ceasars will cost you at least $300 or more...

Best bet is to meet one stripping and negotiate from there unless you meet at the glitter gulch on fremont street....you can charge those ugly bitches...lol

Id say 1800 is a , lot. I assume ur wagering college football. Better to do north las vegas cheap and have a bigger bankroll. The cannery is nice and their sportsbook is very good.

You can always go visit the strip fir a.few days. But unless ur a whale. Or a mid range whale ur better off uaing ur vacation money on ur bankroll and limit ur time on the strip

Www.cannerycasino.com has rooms at 100 bux. Their books r awesome. Stay there then just go to strip to be.raped and price gouged by the tourist trapistas. But ok.

sure if you want a trip to the DR

His money if he wants to stay on strip I say go for it. Paying too much though check sites like orbits or travelocity. You can find much better deals.

AS was mentioned if staying on weekend where a fight or another big event like EDC room rates skyrocket

Yes, you are probably paying too much...but it all depends where you are flying in from. Airfares are crazy for some places. Check Expedia or Orbitz as suggested above.

Unless you are a degen and have a limited budget, you need to stay on the strip to get the full enjoyment of a first visit. The Mirage is pretty nice as they've been upgrading it and are almost done. Plus it's in a great location on the strip. You are near High end and low end casinos so you have your choice of where you want to play.

Biggest thing is don't view the trip as trying to do everything the cheapest way possible. Treat it as a normal vacation where you know you will have certain expenses. Yes you will more than likely not profit money, but you will have more fun.

Lastly, check out yelp.com on the activities they review. This will help find some things you are interested in.

you could have got a much cheaper price had you did some research but it's well worth the money.

vegas is the mecca of gambling, and any self respecting sports-bettor must visit at least once a year.

Hey guys thanks for the input so far! I haven't booked the trip yet wanted to know some public opinions before doing so! I'm going to Vegas just to bet on college football and NFL and to just get out of Mississippi for a week lol I've done some more research since posting it definitely seems cheaper staying in North Vegas and shuttle down to the strip but I was just thinking about stay at a hotel/casino that had a decent sports book in it instead of traveling with a taxi daily

Yes thats definitely an option. Staying downtown and then taking the $2 shuttle to the strip. I still say stay at the Palazzo. Being from Miss Im sure you've been to Tunica and Biloxi, but Palazzo is a totally different experience. Spacious suites that your woman will love and while she is hanging out in the 200 sq ft bathroom you can hang out downstairs ogling all the amazing tail you won't see in one place like that in Mississippi
