Default NY Times: Donaghy Hit 79%

    Went 37-10 on his picks

In another story, a guy says 13 NBA refs were involved in gambling scandal and a book might be written

The NBA was fixed this decade, do not bet the sport

there is a huge soccer gambling scandal in europe right now ,
this is getting out of control

The most obvious game ever fixed was the Lakers and Kings playoff game a few years back. Ray Charles could see that. Unreal.

Ya theres too much fixing involved in sports nowadays...getting out of a hand and ruining the sports.

I don't think so. I think if it was so easy, he'd hit more than 79%. Boxing and tennis numbers would be much higher.

79% is great but am I the only one thinking he should have been better?

He avoided detection for a while. He probably became masterful at masking his efforts, and according to leaked excerpts from his book he seemed to act on inside information based on his knowledge of referee tendencies. Can't be 100%.

Have to agree with that one. I remember Bibby fouling Kobe's forearm with his face with the ref 3 feet away. Amazing. A close 2nd was Spurs beating the Suns 2 seasons ago. The Suns were clearly the better team.

Watch the HBO Real sports piece that was on last night.

The guy who put in the bets for him said he was absolutely horrible when he was picking NBA game that he didn't ref, but was 79% picking his own games.

I believe steam plays in Donaghy's games (lines that moved 2 points or more) were 14-0

Wonder how much $$ they got down on that shit?

Thats the one that pisses me off. That was a good year for the suns to have a shot at the ring, but onto this year!

There were a couple of games in that Lakers series that raised eyebrows but you're right, nothing like Game 7.

79% means he didn't play some of his marginal choices. Too bad for him.

maybe he didn't want to look too obvious. Did he have runners that ratted him out? How did he get caught anyway?
Basketball is too foul intensive. Any time it's ok to have 50 fouls in a game something's wrong.

Yeah, and I had Kings huge with the head of the CDS desk at CSFB getting above-market odds. FML.

The best part is the first clip when the announcer says,"Donaghy called that one from half court."

If someone fixing games from the inside can only hit 79% that sure makes things look pretty bleak for those of us who are trying to handicap the NBA honestly.

I Know your a paid poster, but did you even watch the video? The calls aren't borderline they are either poor officiating or fixing. Nothing in there look borderline the cameras make it all clear.
