Ever since the Seattle/Steelers Superbowl the Refs has let the players decided who was going to win the game. Aside from that game, I don't recall any Superbowl where the Ref was a factor. It's basically the better team wins.

Expose it, you die. It's already happened over the years.

It' s been fixed for several decades and fans do not want to hear that their beloved favorite sport is "rigged" but it's the truth. I have won consistently and have won well over 15k this season.

I don't come here complaining that the games are fixed because I already know it is and I'm benefiting with my picks because these games are obviously rigged. It hurts deep down because some fans will never view an NFL game ever the same again.

Anyone that thinks these games are fixed is an idiot. All you have to do is look at risk/reward:

What's the risk? Well, the NFL would be risking their entire existence if they were caught fixing games. Billions and billions of dollars would be completely lost.

What's the reward? Still waiting for someone to answer that question and tell us what the league gains by fixing games.

A book about soccer and European organized crime will not give any significant insight into the National Football League.

It's like a WWE fan believing that it's real. Sure it gets physical and there are some serious injuries that occur but professional sports is a shady business and people need to wake up if they think these guys play with integrity.

The web of laws applicable to sports, such as the Sports Bribery Act of 1964, only prohibits gambling-related corruption. There is no federal law explicitly preventing the clandestine manipulation of sporting events to enhance suspense.

The fact that you are claiming the NFL is rigged AND you possess the inside information on these fixed games may make this the single most absurd post in forum history.

FACT -- The money the NFL and its players / coaches could make from fixing a game is mere pennies compared to what it is making off that game from television revenue, etc. And people are watching regardless of who is winning and losing, and how lopsided a score may be. (I'm guessing the NFL took a day off of fixing its biggest showcase yesterday, because surely a Seattle blowout didn't help its cause)

And please don't try to insist that it is rigged for gambling purposes. Again, the money the NFL elite and/or players and coaches can make by regularly fixing games is ZILCH compared to what they make by being part of the NFL.

Can you even comprehend how many individuals would have to be involved in regularly fixing outcomes to NFL games? Do you realize how much it would cost in payouts to satisfy each and every individual involved?? The amount would be beyond astounding, and it would trigger a red flag in Vegas in a heartbeat.

Small-time college athletes rarely get away with point-shaving. Two or three guys involved in throwing a small-time college game over a few thousand dollars, and eventually it is usually exposed.

Now bring that to the NFL level on a regular basis???

In this day and age, 1-it's impossible, and 2-it is not in the best interest of the NFL at any level. It would require the help of thousands, and those not involved and not benefiting would expose the fix in the blink of an eye.

O.K. idiots. Was last nights game rigged? Was it fixed. Only the very stupid would think so. Now which one of you amateur know-it-alls want to comment about the legitamacy of last nights game or lack of it? It is time for people like Unwritten Law, who claim to have won over 15K, but offer absolutely no proof, and all of the other air bettors in here (which makes up the vast majority of posters in here) to get the he** out and spread your B.S. somewheres else.

The NFL is registered as an Entertainment company. Like WWE. There are no legal repercussions even if they were exposed. As far as I understand it anyway..

If you search on Youtube "Is the NFL fixed?", there are enough videos out there that would make anyone with open mind at least think about it.

The only way it was fixed is if NFL decided to fix next year's SB too for the Broncos to win. This will ensure Peyton Manning comes back and the NFL would try to push him hard to win it next year. So if you think it is fixed buy your futures for Broncos next year because as you know it whatever NFL wants it has the absolute power to make it happen.

    Nope.
The line movement stayed around -2 on the Broncos when 75% of the public was on the public.
That gave you an idea the sportsbooks knew the Seahawks were going to win.
Usually lines move to -7 or greater when 70%> of the public is on one team.

Manning is already making millions of dollars, there is no reason for him to purposely throw a game that is so hard to get to in the first place. And one that could have solidified his name even further as a Legend.

All I know is... Denver's first snap of the game made Vegas Millions. As much as I see that clip over and over again... the center clearly wanted to snap it quicker intentionally and he didn't even get it near Manning.

If the NFL is fixed, then whoever the hack is in the NFL's script writing department should probably be dragged out into the street and shot for last night's debacle. The game was a season long buildup to a pillow fight in which the Seahawks showed up with a sledgehammer.

All I know is that the main event in every WrestleMania (was a fan back in the day) that I've ever seen was a knock-down, drag-out battle of epic proportions that left the combatants exhausted and the fans breathless. That's what a script looks like. The Ultimate Warrior isn't supposed to pin Rick Rude for a three count after just a simple clothesline one minute into the match. But that's what we had last night.

Face it, there is no outcome imaginable that would sway the minds of those who insist that it's rigged. A million different scenarios could unfold in any one game, and they'll be ready with a million different explanations as to why it happened that way.

also interesting article here.. I particularly think #2 is interesting..

    spaces.covers.com/blog/MaximumWins/NFL/03042012-Reasons-Why-The-NFL-Is-Fixed-For-Profit.html

Anyone ever watch "League of Denial" in part of that documentary the commissioner even responded as to saying the nfl is for entertainment purposes only and is not classified as a true sporting event.
