Default It's McMahon for Philly

Surprised no one posted it yet but the Eagles confirmed that McNabb is out and Mike McMahon will start Sunday. That was enough to get me to bet on the Giants at home and -7.

Not really surprised that McNabb is not playing, but I'm not convinced there's enough value in the Giants -7.

Might be a lot of value in Philly +7. A change in QB might actually give Philly a lift, similar to the Vikings situation. No way I am taking Giants -7.

This could be very similar to the Vikings situation. McNabb and Culpepper are two of the most overrated QBs in the league. I might consider Philadelphia @ +7.5.

Should see 8s out there closer to game time. I'll make a play on Phil +8 if it hits that.

Agree completely! Didn't say it because the topic was McNabb and Culpepper!

If it does hit +8, Philly is definitely worth a shot. I think the Giants win the game, but @ +8, a backdoor cover becomes likely.

McMahon is going to be tested, because that team still has no running game. Giants D knows it and will be set up for it. No way I lay that much points, but hard for me to take them too. Will see how that line moves. But more and likely I will pass on this game.

The Eagles lack of run game is an aberration. They have the capacity. Look at the last MNF game. I think part of it was teams stacking the box, forcing McNabb to beat them, which he couldn't. Part of it is Andy Reid's corny play calling. Seems like Reid just wants to screen Westbrook left, screen Westbrook right. After a while, teams figure out what you're doing and game plan against it. Eagles D is still tough. The Eagles offense has talent. I can't bury them just yet.

Tough game to figure out based on last weeks performances. Eli Manning had his worst game against Minn and Minn scores 3 TDs without the offense being on the field and yet the Giants almost pulled the game out.

They might have a running game now with McMahon, I think he is the only QB in NFL history to have the fastest 40 time on their team, not 100% sure though.

I like the Eagles at any number here but waiting is probably a good idea

Personally I think that the situations in Philly and Minnesota are a bit different. Johnson is a former starter with Tampa and a classic pocket passer who has shown he can get the job done. McMahon is not as good a passer as Johnson and might not be as good as McNabb (though I also feel Donovan is overrated). McMahon has chances to unseat Joey Harrington and couldn't do it....Joey Harrington! McMahon is one of those guys who is a great athlete but has never been good enough to earn the starting QB job. He could make me look stupid and play great, but I just have a feeling he won't help stop their free fall much and they lose again this week. If I were the Giant's D-Coordinator I'd blitz him all day long.
