    Default Directv raising rates again

Check your April bills. Seems they boosted rates again. Is it just me, or do they raise rates every 6 months and not tell anyone? Every month when I open the bill I look at the total like I'm gambling. What will it be this month?

If not for NFL Sunday Ticket, I'd boot their ass. They don't even have HRTV, only TVG, while Dish has both.

When examining the web site, they have also changed the package options. Mine appears to be discontinued, but they might be continuing it for existing customers. Boosted it $3 a month for now $48.99 a month.

I just can't watch TV shows or movies on the computer. Gotta be in the living room in a big chair.

hey you are right about the bill being like a gamble. My bill comes after it is due, if I actually wait for the bill they will cut me off. I never know how much they will charge me from month to month. You can also just get the Sunday ticket with nothing else if you choose.

I'm not shocked that they raised rates once again. How else do you think they plan on paying the 700 million dollars that they are going to owe MLB for that contract they just signed.

    On a side note.

Does Bell up in Canada offer the baseball package like they do the NFL Sunday ticket. If so how much is it?

That is another beef I have with Directv. My bill comes 2 weeks before it's due. Most businesses give customers 3 to 4 weeks to pay. It's almost like Directv wants you to be late so they can sock a late fee on.

They did send a notice about the rate increases in last months bill, but it was on one of those papers you needed the Hubble telescope to read.

All these providers have the same channels now, the sports packages are overrated unless you own a bar or restaurant. There is no way your getting any value because you only watch one game anyway.

I watch all the games I can on my packages... As a matter of fact I don't mind that little of an increase because it's pennies compared to all the free channels I got when I used to get my card done back in the late 90's... I miss the programmed card though that was the best... Back in 00' I had cosmetic surgery on my face all I did was watch DTV and smoke pot for a week straight to recover and it was awsome... It was cool having the porn but I liked watching all the local channels...

Bars and restaurants get a completely different price altogether coach. DTV charges those types of places based by there fire code capacity and not a flat rate like they do with private home owners.

I do like that they offer all of the fox sports channels, along with ESPNU and CSTV for 12 bucks a month...it's still a racket though...

I think cable is a bigger racket though Pags.

Those cable prices are even more outrageous than the satellite prices if you compare them side by side.

I called customer service for one of my channels not coming through and the operator did the usual, turn off and turn on deal... Well, he couldn't help me with his vast knowledge so he told me he'll send someone for $75. What a ripoff...

Sounds like you need a hard reboot on that receiver bud.

I don't know what model receiver you have, but each model has there own hard reboot pattern to them.

Yeah I agree I think he needs either a hard set (unplug for 10 mins. and plug back in) or be transfered to tech. support.. Those guys at customer service have NO IDEA what they are doing outside of billing.... Man they are tech. stupid... I always have to have tech. support fix one of their f\*\*k ups... So try hard reset first then call CService and make sure they transfer you to tech. support...

You satellite TV subscribers better get used to it. I'm with Time Warner. I pay $150.00/month for cable TV and Internet. Satellite TV subscribers still pay less than cable TV subscribers. It's inflation at work and it's unstoppable.

Picture quality and sound for starters. They also tend to offer way more channels.

The only reason I got caught is because I had a 200 ft wire going across the street from some rich guys dish..he had all the packages too. I had 6 HS help me one night holding the ladder.

One day I guess a DTV guy noticed something odd with the wire going through fukkin trees and everything.

    I settled for 15k fine

I thought the only way to steal sat was to clone a card or open the tiers on the card to make it look like you have already paid. Never heard of running a cable from another dish.
