I hear he's getting a contract extension through 2013. Does he deserve it?

Obviously Favre and the owner's willingness to spend money are the main reasons he's getting the extension. Or am I missing something?

I don't know much about the guy, but his play calling seems suspect, and he doesn't strike me as a great motivator / leader.

I've been critical of him in the past but he does deserve it. You have to give him credit for getting and having faith in Favre and this is really the first time they've had a decent QB in his system. He's also drafted pretty well and seems to be liked by the players.

This is a franchise that has multiple draft follies and hot oil love boat parties. All that has been eliminated since his arrival.

This will blow up in the vikings face after they lose Favre, who is going to replace him at QB? Their OL and DL will start to get old making their stout run D and awesome running game go downhill fast. I just hope that Childress can keep on drafting as well as he has been.
