ESPN piece on March Madness gambling

The oddsmakers don't have much time to analyze the first-round games and make the numbers. White gives them 45 minutes. In a perfect world, said Sinisi, they'd like to crunch the figures for the rest of the night and release the numbers first thing in the morning. But the sports books want the sides as soon as possible. And White also wants to release the numbers before the offshore gambling sites release theirs.

Pretty good piece at ESPN, even if it is written by the condescending Gene Wojciechowski. Worth the time to read it all the way through.

I like how it reads as if LVSC whipped up 32 totals in about the last five minutes of the session, as the boys were headed for the door.


And they took nary a glance at CRIS at any point in time here. . . . Right.

The funny parts to me were either how gullible Wojciechowski must be, and/or ESPN in general, or how gullible Wojciechowski and ESPN think their readers are.
