He told me that this backup has looked OUTSTANDING in his preparation for todays game and he will be surprised if he does not play at LEAST ADAQUATE ENOUGH FOR THEM TO WIN THE GAME TODAY!!!

Of course you would EXPECT him to say that, perhaps to the media and such, but he is pretty up front and BRUTALLY honest with me when discussing the team......as he has been my friend for 25+ years.

I still believe asking a kid that has never started to perform well in the Horseshoe is asking a lot, HOWEVER I may be inclined to take the +17 after discussing this with him.

Please note, I LAID -13.5 with this game early on as many of you know, and late last night I felt compelled to take back 60% of my wager at +17 even money after my 30 minute discussion with my friend.........so that is where I stand on this game.

Early in the week I was calling for a 24+ point win by the Buckeyes, now I'm calling for between an 11-20 pt win by the Buckeyes in a game that i still feel will fall somewhere around the over/under total of 38 or so.

Fishhead the problem here is that Ohio State doesn't score an awful lot of points. When they are favored by more than 14 it is very hard to play them against any team that has a defense. Iowas defense has been pretty good this year and they may keep this one closer today that we think. That is why I am passing this game because of that. I do really think that an under is a very good play here though if I was playing that.

Two things I believe your not taking into consideration in my opinion..........


1. Stanzi performed many positvie things for the Hawks and was just as good as he was bad at times.

2. The Iowa defense is very vulnerable to running QB's........perhaps the ONLY weak spot, if you want to call it that, this Iowa defense has. They like to drop their fast linebackers back in coverage and bend but not break style of defense and this allows lots of running room for a QB with speed who wants to run to consistantly gain 8-15 yds against them..........watch the game today and you will see exactly that.

He will post or "predict" his Iowa team will not win-----and then trash them-----however, it is the perfect setup. If they do win---he can celebrate as the fan he is (don't let him bullshit you)----anyone who can name an Iowa recruit---and said recruit's high school statistics as Fishhead has done---is a fan of that team.
