    Default The REAL Opening Line

During the course of the NBA season, I have been tracking results based on opening/closing lines. What I am curious about is what is the REAL opener?

Using SBR/DonBest/Wagerline...I can find out what the offshore opener is...

Using vegasinsider..I can find out what the LVSC opener is...

I am under the assumption that LVSC is the REAL opener...I am assuming that they open the line first then offshore....but do I have my wires crossed? Is it the other way around?

    Any feedback would be helpful..

    Thank You

It isn't 100% but I'd say the public can bet online before they can bet in Vegas. Pinn and TheGreek are both favorites over the brick and mortar field.

For example. Tonight's NBA Charlotte @ Seattle

Vegas Insider shows LVSC opener was Seattle -7
CRIS was the first to open this morning offhosre Seattle -9.5

So what is the REAL opener?

CRIS, Pinnacle and Kenny White all open independently.

austin i would say that the LSVC has openers before pinny, and before pinny comes greek and cris but usually not sooner than LSVC

my locals have lines for NBA 1-2 days before LSVC, but there are only MLs and they screw you on vig incredibly and they can not be called liquid market, i hope it helps

CRIS and Greek usually open within an hour of each other, at somewhere between 3-5 PM eastern. In the NBA, even when Pinny was Pinny, Greek and CRIS were first. I don't care what LVSC says and when, the Greek/CRIS numbers are almost certainly the first numbers that people can bet real money into. Those numbers often jump a point or more within minutes, especially on totals.

The bigger question is: you say you "have been tracking." What have you learned? Enquiring minds want to know.

I've said here a couple of times in here that somebody with some time and ambition should go back and track the NBA totals that move a point or more at CRIS within the first 10 minutes. That's easily available at SBR Odds on a daily basis, and I think Vegas Insider has them historically.

(Sadly, appropros of DH and the Spirolina, VI does not include the Greek as part of its offshore tracking.)

Jay - I am trying to keep it under wraps for now. This is why I am trying to determine the REAL opener.
