    Default Tradesports at it again

After several downgrades of this company I no longer play there, but players are still being manipulated and disrespected by these spindoctors.

As you may know, Tradesports split up into Tradesports for sports and Intrade for non-sporting events. Tradesports members were invited to transfer 20% of their funds to the new Intrade site. Many did.

The following clarification was added on their forum, by 'Intrade', the company spokesman on the forum:

It will be possible for you to move funds directly and easily from your TradeSports to your Intrade account.

The exact mechanism to move funds from your Intrade to your TradeSports account is yet to be finalized.
So far, so good. Intrade is now funded by many members of the exchange, who have no reason to doubt the reliability of the TS statements.

Upon further inquiry, a week or so later, the exact nature of this 'mechanism to move funds from Intrade to Tradesports' becomes clear. Again, Intrade has the microphone:

In accordance with an agreement made between the now two separate companies you are permitted to transfer funds from Tradesports to Intrade.

This can be done by contacting Intrade and making this request. The funds will then be manually transferred across.

You will not be able to move funds from Intrade to Tradesports however.
That's right. The money is now stuck at Intrade! There is no mechanism. So sorry. But thanks for funding our new site.

Wow. Anyone made a withdrawal from Intrade yet?

That's scary if they're not processing withdrawals.

I purchased some data from Tradesports and over the transaction the guy's e-mail switched to intrade, never had any problems FWIW.

There is no reason to believe funds can't be withdrawn from Intrade. Just not back to Tradesports. TS management, at their convenience, decided that the promised two-way street between these two sites would be a one-way street instead. Without Neteller this is obviously a problem.

Maybe Tradesport execs are worried if they are making it too easy for US players to transfer funds into their sports wagering **gasp** area, the DOJ will make sure they pay a visit to San Quentin or Alcatraz or somewhere else with a nice view when they land in the U.S.

This looks like the reason to me. Intrade is legal in US Tradesports is "illegal". I suspect Intrade will soon take Neteller , then transferring to Tradesports would circumvent the rules.

I've often noticed a tendency to think that TS is working on some grand plan behind the scenes, that will soon be clear to us mere mortals, if we would but stop questioning it.

    I'm with JJ.

    F*ck 'm.

"I'm with JJ" should give you a pretty clear indication it's not the right side ;-)

That does make sense... for the same reason NT disallowed P2P, to "protect us from getting our money onto gambling sites."

What I don't get is that wagering on things that aren't sports related is somehow NOT gambling.
