I do not recall a player in NFL history that is on and off injured more then Sanders.

He was the same when at Iowa.

I would have said that's a huge blow for the Colts, but Sanders hadn't played much this year, right? They've been solid, so they must have some young guns back there who are coming along.

Corner's Lacey (rookie free agent) and rookie Powers from Auburn have been fantastic...but the job is a little easier for anyone back there when Freeney/Mathis are bearing down on the QB with sub 4.5 speed every play! Melvin Bullitt at safety is rock solid too to replace Sanders but all our depth is gone
If the rumors of Anthony Gonzalez being done are true...it might be time to stick a fork in the Colts?
That would leave them with no depth anywhere and more than half a season to play?

not as big of a blow as you may believe. The Colts have a pretty good backup at safety.

No tackles in the league can consistently pass block both Freeney/Mathis one-on-one so the Colts don't ask as much from their secondary as most! Still....any more injuries in the secondary or to Freeney or Mathis and its a deal breaker for the Colts!

doesnt matter, colts will get a bye in playoffs and lose their 1st or 2nd rd.

Bob Sanders has been hurt so much over the years it's unreal. Depth is a concern now and the secondary should be tested quite often now more so than before. This may make for some higher scoring affairs. I am hopeful that the others can step up and perform as they have had quite a bot of playing time already. Sanders and Sorgi are making some easy money on the sidelines for Indy.

You Patriots love to get an advantage at any and all cost. As a Colts fan, when Brady got injured I was upset just because I like to see two teams do battle at their best. Whatever winds your clock though.
