So what's "classic"? Maybe pre-1960? If I'd have to include these additional 6:
    • Citizen Kane
    • On the Waterfront
    • Rebel Without a Cause
    • The Bridge on the River Kwai
    • A Streetcar Named Desire
    • The Wizard of Oz

When we go that far back it becomes more about actors than movies to me.

I never thought Charlie Chaplin was very funny, but then I saw one of his movies with a bunch of guys that, I suppose, were in the right mood. All of us fell off our chairs laughing. We just couldn't stop. Every little move Chaplin made looked hilarious. Forgot the name of the movie.

    Pretty much anything with Brando.
    James Dean as well.
    Lawrence of Arabia
    Ben Hur
Snow White and the seven dwarfs.

Casablanca ranks right up there among my favorites of all-time in addition to being one of the best from pre-1960.

Any Hitchcock, two of his I really like that aren't often mentioned are Lifeboat and Rope.

Any and all of The Thin Man series, love a lot of William Powell's stuff and have been in love with Myrna Loy since I first saw her. Wish I'd been born about 40 years earlier

Old Westerns and war flicks, Rio Bravo and The Longest Day are two, so count John Wayne films in there. Stalag 17 and High Noon are two more.

Also like some of the sci-fi stuff from the 50s, pretty corny, but I like them. The Day the Earth Stood Still is a real classic, plus Them and The Incredible Shrinking Man.

    And all Marx Brothers.
