In general, Torrent downloads are slow and to say the least, dangerous.

With that said, dedicating a PORT on your firewall could help a little.

If I can ask, which movie are you trying to download? Maybe we can look for it elsewhere.

Torrents are fantastic. I have downloaded 500+ dvd movies that way.

The time it takes depends on the popularity of the movie. A good place to find torrents is www.thepiratebay.com

High quality you ask?... Some are, but most of them are just okay

I use piratebay and torrentspy.

Heres a pretty good summary on this subject IMG...

First: download a bit torrent client such as: Bittornado, Azureus (find Shu Mod it will be better), Utorrent, bit torrent. EASIEST TO USE IS BOTTORNADO, HAS MINIMAL SETTINGS AND WILL GET THE JOB DONE. If you get advanced use azureus with shu, it will be better, trust me.

Second: Find a torrent website such as: Torrentspy.com, PirateBay.org, Demonoid.com (registrations open every Friday I think).

Third search for the file that you want, click download. Either save the .torrent file or open it with your chosen bit torrent client (step One)

Fourth: Open you bit torrent client and open the .torrent file that you downloaded (step three). The download will start

Fifth: You have to share the file, if there are not many seeders it will take you longer to download the file. Bit your "DOWNLOAD SPEED IS IN DIRECT RATIO OF YOU UPLOAD SPEED" so upload if you want faster D/L speeds. You can avoid this if you have a hack for your bit torrent client.

Sixth:Find the correct settings that are suitable for your connection. Depending on the amount of seeds there are the speed will vary, i would recommend to leave a torrent overnight as some users are from other countries.

Seventh: Open your file and enjoy: Unless you want to burn an avi to a dvd.in that case follow to step eight.

Eighth: First download Cucusoft converter pro or Winavi converter pro ( you can get this programs from your torrent websites.
Ninth:Cucusoft will let you convert a .AVI to a DVD file and it will author the dvd automatically, however it will not make any chapters. So if you need to create chapters use WinAvi. You should figure out how to use this simple programs.

Tenth: There is a helpful tool in Cucusoft, that if you have a .AVI file and a .SRT (subtitles for a movie) it can automaticaly force the subtitles unto the movie, there is a box you can check for this. So if you have foreign movies and you can find subtitles for it, lets say on divxsubtitles.net or some other website.

Eleventh: My neck hurts.... With WinAVI it will only make you dvd authored files, and i think you need a burning software to burn the authored .Vob, .IFo files unto a DVD. So you will use DVDFab Premium 3.0 (i think this is the latest version, you can find this on your torrent website, this is a great program for directly copying DVD's, and it will remove all the locks on the DVD.
BURN ALL DVD MOVIES AT 2X, do not burn it faster, or you DVD would have glitches, will freeze and the like.

-----------Open .iso, .bin, .cue, .mdx or any other image with Daemon tools, use it to mount and then directly burn the image to a Disc, or just use it off the hard drive
-----------PS MAKE SURE TO SET UP YOUR BIT TORRENT DOWNLOAD CLIENT PORT TO BE HIGHER THAN 40000, AND NOT THE PRESET 6881.
There is not need to make any trackers of any kind. You will make a tracker if you want to create your own torrent, which I doubt you will.
