I'm happy to clarify this for you.

Score of the match was 7-6, 0-2* in the 2nd. So 2 games into the 2nd set she had already guaranteed a push. If she won 1 of the next 6 games (what price would you pay for that in-game?), it would win. And that's what happened.

Also, at 6-6 in the first set you know that if she loses the TB, she has only to win 2 games for a push. If she wins 3, she covers. Given that Wicky hadn't covered the -5 in less than 5% of her last 20 matches, I liked my chances.

To put this in basketball terms, let's say you have -1.5 and are up by 10 with 11 seconds go... but win by 2 pts (and you had led by 10 pts ever since the middle of the first quarter). At the end of the game they hit a 2 at 9 secs, the other team misses 4 ft's while they make two 3-ptrs. 2-pt win. You read the paper in the morning and you say, 'wow, my -1.5 covered by half a point'... yet it was not really ever in question.

Plus tennis has limited outcomes with lower frequencies .... 8-7-6-5....1-0.

Anyways, it was an easy cover imo, even tho the scoreline says 1 game.

Milf, you posted that it was a winner when it was in the first set. I'm just pointing out that while sending the first set to a tiebreaker makes her very likely to cover, it's no guarantee.

If DK had won the tiebreaker and then lost the next two sets, it could easily have been a Wickmayer cover.

Highly unlikely, imo. Kimiko was up a break twice in the first set (... and up a break in the 2nd set.)

Plus w/ the history of Wick not covering (and Kimiko had only been -5'd in something like 1 of her last 20 as well), odds were extremely good.
