what's the latest with this whole neteller fiasco anyway?...

Very informative thread, as I finally understand what is going on.
Ok, Neteller are criminals! No doubt. I stopped using them already for some time, as I stay out of the Caribbean anyhow these days.
100% sure that if they were to close the accounts of all American residents and simply pay them, they will not be bothered any longer by any justice department.

When these guys halt their stock trading, because it would open at .001, they are emboldened to stiff everyone ala BOS.
And where does the money go? Where did the remains of the BOS money go?

If someone doesn't play by the rules, it is sure nice if you can fight them by sticking to the rules, but there are cases where a little lawless coercion is more effective.
If you want your money, scare these motherf*ckers out of their wits.

The problem, acw, is that the money may never reach it's intended recipients, even if they try to send it. So then you're sending money into a black hole (the DOJ) and still owe money to the clients. That's not smart.
Exception: They could send it in another currency to those willing to bank it at a non-US bank. That's the only way to stop it becoming US$ in the USA at some point on it's journey.

Yes, Opening a Canadian bank account would do it.
As for Greek and Trojan, well the Neteller intermediaries have been publicly identified, the Greek and Trojan intermediaries may not have. I know more than the poster here who've had US$ transactions blocked, and I also know UK people who NT have refused to pay into UK-held US$ accounts, but happily paid in GBP to other UK accounts.
Thus, I'm inclined to think there's something to it, whether it's their belief or reality.
