Default Tell me again: Why doesn't Bodog accept Canadians?

Probably thinking I should know that.

Well I know the canned response but what is the real reason?

Yeah, I suppose so. Under the circumstances that was quite the spoiled-brat comment on my part, eh?

    Santo, you are correct.
Dont remember the exact year, but he(Calvin) was in BIG shit with the law regarding some Stock Exchange situation, (insider trading etc...) something like that. Anyway, he was forced to leave the exchange and of course lost his license and had some sort of agreement to never do any business Canada. My details are not exact, but basically this is what occurred. Bottom line , everyone is crooked.

Because it is against the law in Canada and he is/was a CDN citizen. Not that hard to figure out. He doesn't need that market either to make zillions. Same advanced theory behind why all the sportsbooks and poker sites aren't set up with big offices on Wall Street and the Chicago financial district.

Korchnoi, it was kind of a silly question. I thought it was rhetorical at first.

Well, then what about the sportsbooks operating in Canada on indian land? They cater to Canadians eh?

If I'm Calvin, and already taking big big risks, I reconsider my Canadian policy.

He regularly travels to Canada and values his citizenship there. Why would he flush that down the toilet for a small additional revenue stream?

I heard there weren't enough gamblers there to make it worth his while.

Because the other books there aren't owned by Canadians and if they were, no one knows who they are.

Is this a serious question? C'mon. Ayre has sacrificed his anononimity (remember Cole Turner) in order to build use the Hugh Hefner/Playboy marketing trick.

He weighed the Canadian market against a strong marketing strategy of using his name to brand the company.

He has marketing offices and customer support offices in Canada as well.

Pretty obvious to me why he doesn't. Smart marketing guy imo.

There arent enough "squares" in Canada. The fact is Canadians are very smart handicappers and make for good bettors.

There is considerable anecdotal evidence to the contrary.
