i believe i saw a sweet stat that makes it hard not to pick lee....i think it was with a minimum of 3 starts, lowest ERA in MLB playoff history.....lee has .54 i believe.....2nd best is lie .80 or .70....if phils win and lee pitches another gem....i think u gotta go with him

well if lee pitches game 7 and wins it he gets it i think unless utley breaks reggie jacksons home run record which would be amazing. His short powerful swing is gonna be used as a coaching tool for little leaguers everywhere its so productive and dangerous.

Lee won't pitch Game 7 (if there is one). He was gassed tonight. If the Yankees win, A-Rod=MVP. If the Phillies win, Utley is the man.

Utley should get it either way. Unfortunately, the fools that vote on this have only once given a WS MVP to a player on the losing team (1960 - Bobby Richardson).

Extreme indeed! Great story! Even if Pedro gets the phills through game 6 we throw Hamels? Whatever happens Chase has been the man!! If he breaks the record and they lose he should get MVP. If he dosent homer but keeps hitting and they win he should get it or split with Lee. If they win Wednesday and lose game 7 I'll be even more sick about that blundering 8th inning in game 3

I certainly don't get my information from the columnists at CBS, but this is a very interesting perspective on Utley. It lends to the fact that he has potential to win regardless of who wins, but also has historically been shot down.
From a betting perspective - I wouldn't touch him on MVP for Props. You are combining a bet with the Phils to win and him to win MVP. If the Phils win, a lot will have changed by MVP time.

Not that I get my information from CBS - but this article poses an interesting perspective. It shows both how Utley could take the MVP even if the Phils lose, yet also shows why he is not even a real contender.
From a betting perspective - betting on Utley is foolish, as you are also betting on the Phils to take the series. If the Phils do somehow win the series, very much will have changed my MVP time. Would I take the bet? At +1600, maybe. Maybe.
