    Default What books do you plan on uses for bases?

    Baseball is right around the corner now, and now that spring training has officially started. It's time to start looking into which books everyone is planning on using this year for the 2007 baseball season.

    I know for sure that I will be using Matchbook. You gotta love the exchange when it comes to betting bases, not to mention the safety of your funds. The only problem I see with them is that there website is not firefox friendly at all, but I'm sure they will have that problem resolved come baseball season.

    I will also be using 5Dimes once again this year. Not only do they offer nickel overnight lines, but they use the dimeline up to -190 and a 15 cent line up to 210.

    I do like the safety of Cris for betting bases, but theres no way I'm gonna play there when they use the 20 cent lines. However DSI is part of the Cris family of books which does use the dimeline, and thats always a nice alternative for safety purposes.

    The only problem I have with DSI though is there dimeline breaks a bit too short for me.

    * 105 to 139 – 10 cents
    * 145 to 169 – 15 cents
    * 175 to 189 – 20 cents
    * 200 to 225 – 30 cents
    * 240 to 285 – 40 cents
    * and the line gets progressively wider as the line gets higher.

    BetJamaica is one book that everyone probably does have on there list. They use a dimeline up to -190, and then the lines break very competitive after that (.13 line up to 195 and .15 up to 205). The one thing I really like about BetJM is the fact that it's part of the Spiro family of books, and that guy will sell one of his Kidneys in order to pay you if you win.

    The only downfall that BetJM has is the fact that they are recreational type book.

    I was considering using Cascade, but there having way too many payout issues right now. I really like the fact they Cascade uses a dimeline up to -190, Not to mention the reduce vig on the totals. Hopefully Lenny will get those payout problems resolved before the baseball season starts, because if not I just can't consider playing there.

    I still haven't decided on the rest yet, but heres a few I have looked into already.

    if WSEX fixes their slowpayout option. I will go there I think 7c or 8cents last 2 years.

    1) WSEX

    2)matchbook. sometimes no action in the morning games. Cubs and detroit plays a lot of early games.

    that's all i have for now, I don't know where to go to after Mansion and Pinny gave up on US players.

    I think DSI, Cris and Pinny are the only books I have in mind that deal with 2nd halves MLB

    That was one of the sticking points for me as well with WSEX at this time, but I feel they should have there act together by april. As far as there lines go. It was .07 cents up to -149 only I believe.

    Pinnacle would be the no brainier for all us U.S. players, but your right bud. Us USA players need to do a whole bunch of research to find the best possible outs that we have left.

    I won't be playing with anyone for a few months so it's hard to say what might change by then. Safety is the wildcard. Here's who I was using a lot at the end of last season and I would like to pick up with (I'm non-U.S.):

    Pinnacle
    Mansion
    Bet Atlas
    DSI
    ABC Islands
    Hollywood
    Intertops

    I have still never used Matchbook so I'll get in there this year.

    That's the only thing that just might maybe perhaps somehow possibly potentialy get me back to CRIS/ DSI

    Trojan and Wagerweb had H2 last year also, but you had to bet before the game starts, no option during the 5th inning.

    I've been considering using Jazz (SBR rated B+) (DPT Sports Group family) for betting bases this year myself Mudcat. They do accept U.S. players, so there definitely an option for me.

    I noticed that they use a dimeline upto -189, and and a 20 cent line at -200 and up. (They won't post a line from -190-199 though). What sucks though is that they use a 20 cent line on the totals which really sucks. However, there online limits are $5,000 side and $3,000 on the totals which is a plus.

    I don't know of any other than Pinny and Cascade either, but Matchbook will have an effective dimeline or better most of the time on MLB.

    FWIW, ABC Islands used to have better lines than Jazz. They are nearly clones but ABC would have slightly less juice in certain situations. It looks like you have done your research and this may no longer be true, but it used to be that they would be clones up to a point but then Jazz lines would break earlier and they would have 15 cent lines on some games while ABC still had the dime lines (and they would break to 20 cent lines slightly earlier etc. etc.)

    If I may make a recommendation, before doing a deposit, just open them up side-by-side and compare. When I did that (some years back) I found ABC Islands to have the slightly better lines and that's why I have always favored them.

    Low volume during the day games is a big concern.Thats the one drawback playing at Matchbook alright.

    ABC Islands and Jazz works just as Mudcat described. While I've heard of several players being limited at ABC, I haven't heard of that at Jazz...

    I found Badlands to be a bit of a pleasant surprise with bases last year. Some good outs, not just on the regular lines, but 1/2 game options and team totals as well. Hope this proves true again this summer.

    Your losing profits doing that Pags.

    But sometimes a break is good, and if your not good at anyone sport, then that is the time to take one.

    BBD have you had any trouble with this "delay" issue @ 5DIMES thats been witnessed for larger bets ($500+)? The review here mentions all action is welcome so this surprises me a little if its true.

    BetTrojan- 10 cent lines breaking at 150 to 15 cents and breaking again at 200 to 20 cents. $2k limit sides and totals. The only problem is that they most likely won't have overnights.

    I'd like to see a thread closer to the start of the season listing each book with lines that they use along with where the line breaks.

    I'm sure going to miss Pinny. The last two years at the beginning of the season they put up overnight totals at Wrigley which was a gold mine. It didn't last long as they stopped putting up totals at Wrigley after about a month.

    I'm going to miss Pinnacle as well Raiders.

    Your right about that one. They had balls to post overnight totals on the games at Wrigley, and I'm going to miss that a lot
