Default Oregon will pass Boise in the BCS standings

Sooner, if not later. Can't wait to hear the bitching.

Ducks are the best team in the land right now.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Boise beat the San Jose School for the deaf and blind. Ducks are raping the mighty professional franchise from Hollywood. This pattern will continue.

What is it you cannot see?

USC may be responsible for another Heisman candidate...due to their defense.

I replicated the Trojan defense in my kitchen. Place sieve under faucet, turn on water. Play fight song incessantly. Repeat as necessary.

The fact is that Boise State beat Oregon already. They played each other earlier in the year. Still Boise beat them and they do deserve to be above them.

Boise only has themselves to blame for scheduling that shit schedule. They played one team with a pulse in Oregon but won't play another team ranked higher then like 60. Their AD needs his ass kicked. I hope they don't get a BCS bowl because they really don't deserve it for playing 1 quality opponent.

Boise playing shit teams is the only hope they got. they just hope every year that all other teams ahead of them shit the bed
if they actually play decent teams thay would be exposed

Nobody is really dumb enough to schedule Boise in the middle of the year.

That much really isn't their fault.

They need to not worry about doing a home and home because big named teams don't want to play on that gimmick turf with few people in the stands. A big name team would lose money going there. They need to go to the big boys or play at a neutral site.

UF tried to get Boise and Utah to come into the Swamp but they both declined...

Boise played in Athens 3-4 years ago and got destroyed. I know they aren't that big on traveling east...but they are going to have to pull a Fresno eventually and start playing 2 away / 1 home game type contracts. Looks like they play Virginia Tech next year, then a bunch of shit after that. Guess you reap what you sow

I don't suppose any Oregon alumni will be writing Coach Kelly this week asking for a refund.

Boise is basically irrelevant as far as the BCS Championship game goes. Might as well consider it a scrimmage at this point.

Yeah, Boise looks good now after they beat ORE in that BS game, I think if they played today it would be different or maybe Boise is the real deal even with the garbage schedule they got

I think the Boise should be 4th and Oregon should be 5th this week. Remember Boise beat Oregon and that should be the tie breaker.

Oregon should be 5th AT BEST...............and definetly not ahead of Boise State, as you suggessted.

    My top ten

    TEXAS
    FLORIDA
    BOISE STATE
    ALABAMA
    TCU
    IOWA
    CINCY
    OREGON
    LSU
    PENN STATE

Right NOW, the 5th-8th teams are really, really close in terms of my rankings but things will become more clear over the next two weeks.....3rd-8th for that matter are really, really close.

Looks like a pretty good top 10 Fishhead. Even if my Bearcats win out they will need some help. They have WVU and Pitt left on their schedule but I don't see them gaining many BCS points by beating them.

Of course they will, PITT is a very, very good football team!!!!

If CINCY played this evening and handled PITT, they would move past Iowa and TCU in my rankings.

Like I stated, #2-#8 are really, really close at this time............but I feel Texas and Florida have earned the right to slightly serperate themselves from the pack at this time.

Well, this kills any hope of a BCS bid for Boise State. TCU is going to get the autobid for non-AQ teams, and USC just took away any hope of an at-large bid (which will likely go to USC: Fiesta, SEC runner-up: Sugar, and Big Ten runner-up: Orange).

Baring some unforseen upsets, this will be the bowls....

    BCSCG: SEC Champ vs. Texas
Rose: Iowa / Ohio State vs. Oregon
Orange: Big Ten runner-up vs. Georgia Tech
    Sugar: SEC runner-up vs. TCU
Fiesta: Cincy / Pitt vs. USC

can somebody explain the rules about non-bcs teams and bowl games and what the rules are for bowl games. why usc at large bid and not boise... unless it's something to do with the rules they would be taking a 2 loss team over an undefeated team (assuming they both win out)

BOISE STATE will jump this week in the BCS and are odds on favorite to play in a BCS Bowl at this time, and they remain alive for an outside shot a playing in the title game.

Not even close. The ONLY way the Big 10 runner up goes to a BCS game is if Penn State wins out. If not, there is no way that the very weak Big 10 conference gets two teams into BCS games. If Penn State wins out, they go to the Orange Bowl. That means that there is a very good chance that the Sugar Bowl takes the Big East Conference Champs, and that the Fiesta Bowl gets TWO at large picks. If an undefeated Boise State and an undefeated TCU are out there, how could they resist? You can not take a two loss team and pick them over an undefeated team. It will never happen.

Like Jimmy0607 said this helps Boise. It improves their quality of opponent. If we are purely speculating on who is better now Oregon may be but you cant disregard games played for speculation. Boise should be ahead of Oregon like it or not. Hopefully the SEC champ and Texas win out so we dont have to worry about it. The only way Boise doesnt make a BCS bowl is if they get passed by TCU in the BCS rankings. Even then they wont take two pac 10 and two big 10 schools so TCU and Boise could both make it in. The biggest problem will be in Ga Tech loses the ACC championship or Texas loses Big 12 championship. Then some team will sneak in as conference champ.

No matter what, teams will always have weaker schedules than other teams. Some teams also have bad recruiting classes which might make your schedule weaker. College Football is all about the money and that is what really makes the schedules. You could also look at the fact some conferences play championship games while others don't. If the SEC didn't have a conference championship game it would be Alabama and Florida in the title game. The fact is we all can agree for the most part a playoff is needed to try and even things out at the end.

There is a fine line between who is the "right" team to pick, and who is the most profitable. Last year, Boise State was the "right" team at 12-0, however the Fiesta Bowl committee knew that a 10-2 Ohio State was the most profitable.

The at-large selections will go as followed unless both PSU and OSU lose 3+ and finish outside the Top-14, or ND sneaks into the Top-14.

    1. Sugar Bowl replacement bid for the SEC Champion / BCS #1 (SEC runner-up)
    2. Fiesta Bowl replacement bid for Texas / BCS #2 (10-2 USC)
    3. Orange Bowl at-large (Big Ten runner-up)
    4. Fiesta Bowl at-large (Big East Champion or non-AQ)
    5. Sugar Bowl (Big East Champion or non-AQ)

You're right. I forgot to update the human polls when making the rankings. Harris has TCU #6 and Boise #4, which is the difference. Just ran the numbers and was surprised to say the least.
