This is no different then people betting USC ML -1500 or whatever it was at oregon st. Both teams should crush the other team or so you would think. VT losing @ lane stadium at night doesnt happen very often. ( i was on the under fyi) i could see how somebody would bet it if you have the dough nobody here can post a ticket of them with a UNC ML bet. Thats because nobody thought UNC would win in blacksburg after that collapse @ home vs florida st. lets be real nobody thought unc would get the outright win. Point Taken..........but cmon man, this is just beyond ridiculous.
Speaking of big money, I played blackjack at the casino last night (1st time since around Xmas I stepped foot in one). I was playing table minimum ($10) and the guy to my right was playing $500-$1000 a hand. The thing is this guy was under 30, and was so wasted he could hardly talk or keep his eyes open. It was a terrible sight seeing him lose money, probably hardly even realizing it. I tried to talk him into leaving and he got real fiery. I had to leave the table.

It happens all the time. They are called Bridge Jumpers in Vegas. You see this more in horse racing. Guys will bet huge sums of money on a big favorite to show, taking their 5% winning. When they lose, they go down big time. Some guys wager as much as 100K on a horse to make 5K. The same holds true in any sport. Vegas took a big hit on the ML in the pros last week because of this. If, by some miracle, Oakland beats San Diego, how much money will they win back this week?

For Every huge ML favorite that goes down, there are gamblers who lose wagers on it. I lost a huge one back in 2001...Apr. 21 when Hasim Rahman beat Lennox Lewis And an In-Game ML wager on USC in the 2006...Jan 4th Rose Bowl when Texas came back in the late minutes with Vince Young to upset the Trojans.
