    Default Shady NBA refs

Turn on the Denver/Portland game if you wanna see some of their finest work. It's obvious they want Portland to cover and it's just the 1st half.

I am really really confused how you guys think that. I mean seriously WTF I am on Denver and am thanking the refs. 25 FT attempts for Denver compared to 10 attempts for Portland. If I am a ref and I want Portland to cover those numbers would be flipped just an FYI.

Are you watching the game or just looking at a boxscore? The fouls that have been called on the nuggets have been horrendous. I've seen about 5 times that Melo has been just brutally hacked and no call.

what about the offensive foul that was called against webster as Melo plowed him over. Or the reaching in by blake as he stripped the ball cleanly. The blocking call after Melo got the steal? Those where horrible fouls and the box score tells the story buddy I am sorry. Portland has dominated the game in every form and fashion. The only thing Denver has done is dominate the FT line stats. The only stat the refs truly control if the game is fixed they don't let Denver get to the line 25 times in a half.

They had no choice but to send them to the line 25 times. Hell, it should've been more like 40.

Yea you are speaking with your money on that one man. The game has been called pretty fair on both sides with touch fouls for both teams. Another thing the refs would do if they where being shady is get Melo a 3rd foul in that half it never happened. I think most of the foul calls in the game where crappy, but it went both ways. Bottom line though is the only reason the Nuggets are in the game is thanks to the fouls. Portland has 24 more shot attempts 11 more rebounds 5 more assist less TOs and more fouls. BTW fouls is the only area refs control. Stop thinking with your money and root for Denver to start playing good basketball so we can cover our bets. If they play like they did that half this game is as good as over.

The refs are now working on the over. Thx for the flow guys. Like that 4th foul on oden was a foul.

Thanks lakerboy I can't believe everyone in this thread thinks that Portland is getting horrible calls. If a fix is in it is in favor of Denver. Thankfully I have Denver in this one so I am ok with it.

At least once a day, always by a losing bettor. I'm due in the next few days I'm sure.

Actually I'm a winner whining about shitty calls in the 1st half.

you and I both won, but you whining about calls when Denver clearly had the advantage at the FT line is just plain ludicrous. Your lack of experience definitely shows with post like that.

Brandon - you can't just go on how many free throws both teams have. Portland is making a living at banging Denver players in an attempt to wear them down. If your really watching the game you would see one team playing finesse and the other team playing football out there. Like it's been said, Denver should have went to the FT line twice as much. Did you see Melo getting hit in the head every time he went to the basket. Denver gets hacked and no calls then Portland gets blown on and refs call a foul.

I'm fairly unbiased when I'm watching a game and I call it as I see it and Portland got the benefit of the calls tonight. It was the same way last year... Home cooking in the NBA has to be taken into consideration as you cap. The disparity is glaring each night.

While I do agree to a point that home cooking must be considered into a cap. I believe Denver was just a brutal on the blocks. How many times does Martin hook players in the post while going for boards. He is one of the dirties players down low in the league. I know portland pushes a lot, but what about all the boards Denver allowed Fernandez to get just due to him hustling more than them. Melo does get hit in the head a lot attacking the basket, but I felt the calls where pretty equal to the calls Roy got. No different than the old days of AI when he would take a beating and should have gotten 20+ foul shots a game and was only getting 9. If anything this game had to many foul calls, but it was pretty equal both ways.

Exactly. When I saw the thread about the Donaghy book, that was what came to mind.

Every fan is going to say their team was the one getting screwed, and bettors are now going to claim the refs want the other team to win.

It happened already, but this just exacerbated it.

My lack of experience. I'm not the only one who saw the crappy calls in the game. Looking through this thread I only see a few that agreed with you and most agreed with me. I think we know who has the lack of experience here.

You can't talk logical to him because we are too inexperienced, as he puts it. Maybe once we get seasoned like Brandon we too will see the light.

The refs were definitely cheating for Portland at the end. But Carmelo was just too much.
