Default How much did the Phillies pay for the umpires in Game 2?

What's the value on this one Justin? Sad. I guess what comes around goes around.

He could not have seen it clearly by where he was standing! Understandable that he blew it! But the other idiots should have seen it! Especially the home plate ump!
They should have had a clue when Howard threw to second! If he caught it, he would have just tagged 1st base!

Why was he standing in that spot when you have a line umpire. He should be standing right by the bag. It was close but thankfully didn't affect the rl bet.

That's where he is suppose to stand.

two big blown calls then went against the Phillies.

Utley was safe at first and the ump rung up Howard in the 9th on a ball.

The umps have been completely inept all postseason.

What I found interesting was that Howard threw the ball to Rollins to get the force out. If he knew he caught the ball cleanly, he would have simply stepped on 1st base to complete the double play.

Howard knew he trapped it. Terrible call.

1st base ump was in no position to make that line drive call. it was HP ump's call.. he was behind the play, how could he see it? and Utley was safe at 1st

umps have been blowing tons of calls in the last 2 weeks of post season. never seen this many bad calls in post season ever..

the one that stands out the most is the NYY/MIN game when in LF, ball was called foul with ump 3 feet from play and ball 4 feet fair.. ever since that call, it's been downhill ever since for umps. before that, they were stellar.

of course Howard knew he didn't catch it. It was a short hop. He knew it better than anyone.

I think calling Utley out was a make up call for the blown line drive call, same ump made both calls. Just my 2 cents.

as a former ump, i can guarantee you the make up call does exist. we've all done it before. it does exist. it is not a myth..

Nick Swisher was a classic makeup call in Yankees/Angels.

Speak for yourself Nicky. I called hundreds of Little League games in my life, and not once did I ever make a call to make up for what might have been a bad call or the wrong call before that.

The umpires will push the Yankees as hard as they could. What's new?

The strike zone was huge last night. Jamie Moyer could have pitched and done well!! The Phills had the wrong game plan takeing pitches to get to the bull pen. I never saw so many no swing strike outs!
