Did they close their bookmaking operation, or are they just going to make their book on the exhange instead. It seems like a better use of their technology just to post the odds they want to give on their exchange rather than have a seperate sportsbook. If they're doing this, they should be slighly less financially secure than TS who doesn't make book at all (also less secure than Matchbook which has neglible WSEX bookmaking risk).

No.

As for feeling European, it's weird. I feel British above all, but I'm certainly leaning more towards Europe as I get older. I used to be very pro-American in my younger days, but certain aspects of Europe do appeal.

I also have property in another (new) EU nation, and when I'm there I do feel European.

when I'm there I do feel European.

I am a bit of a European nationalist. I live in Asia these days, but whenever I go back to my home country (Holland), I will always say I am going to Europe.

The first few years Tony Blair was in power I thought that England was finally going into the right direction. He was at least pro-Euro, but up till today I just cannot understand how even after 911 with a 90% resistance of the French population against a war in Iraq, he decided to turn 180 degrees around and listen to Bush.

Having dealt with all sorts of nationalities I have to come to the sad conclusion that even though there should be no language/communications issues the hardest to do business with are the English. They always want to share the profit even before one has discussed if one can make money in the first place. To give you an example: Lets say one wants to sell some product at 200 Pounds and the costs of the product are 150 Pounds, the English want to know how much they will get out of the 50 Pounds profit even before the question has been answered if anyone will buy the product for 200 Pounds.

Then it has always surprised me that the English generally show such hatred towards the French. After many years the only explanation I can give for it is that the French are even trickier than the English and the English seem to have a problem with that.

And last but not least English bookmakers! I simply stopped using them all together. In one word: A complete waste of time!

I don't disagree entirely on your last point, though some of them you can work with if you establish a decent rappore.

Your financial assessment is fair, but I think it would apply for many of the technological revolution companies, far less in Asia, and the more far-flung parts of Europe (Indeed in Cyprus, money is still kind of a neccesary evil, it's just not considered important).

Re: The French.. it's plausible, also of course the football rivalry, them doing better at football/rugby traditionally etc will lead into that. How different things would have been if we'd said "Oui" during the Suez canal crisis when their PM came to London to ask to become a British annex!

I really think that Mansion is over-rated or over-hyped.

There does not seem to be any advantages to open a Mansion Exchange account since it is just the same as the sportsbook but they charge commissions which makes them more expensive actually.

And the selections/variety is not that many.

Exactly Sam. They were so amazing. I remember a NFL game where the line was 3 in most places. In the Mansion exchange one could bet more than 100k on +4.5 at +130 or so. Just so fukkin far out. And their soccer lines were outrageous too. Never seen anything like it and never will.
