Vince Young will start for the winless tennessee titans on sunday when they face the jacksonville jaguars at lp field, according to a report in the (nashville) tennessean.

Titans coach jeff fisher is scheduled to announce after practice thursday that young has gotten the nod over incumbent kerry collins. The two split the work evenly at practice wednesday.

The tennessean reported this week that titans owner bud adams spoke to fisher during the bye week, telling the coach he preferred that young start against the jags (3-3) over collins, who went 2 for 12 for minus-7 yards and an interception in a 59-0 loss to new england on oct. 18.

It was the largest margin of defeat since the afl-nfl merger in 1970. Young went 0 for 2 with an interception in relief of collins.

I don't think the change makes all that much difference to handicapping Sunday's game, although I guess it adds some uncertainty into the mix compared to having Collins in there who hasn't had a great season at all so far. The Titans are unlucky to be 0-6, but the improvement needs to come in defending the pass, stopping turning the ball over and the receivers actually hanging onto some passes. Still, the Jags look an ideal opponent for them.

Kerry Collins wasn't the problem, their D sucks. The last 5 games the Titans have given up 185 points which averages out to 37 points per game. Season is shot so might as well go to Vince Young and see if he has learned anything sitting on the bench.
