Default INDIANA +17.5 @ IOWA with small write-up

As hiliarious/sad this may sound, INDIANA may just be the best offense this Iowa team has faced all season long and their spread offense and speed should and will put points on the board faster and quicker then any team Iowa has faced this year.

Secondly, Iowa lost starters on the offensive side of the ball with season ending injuries last weekend, their TOP RUSHER TO DATE, Adam Roboinson and what many would have considered their most consistant lineman on the season to date in Richardson. This is asking a lot from semi-banged up freshman Brandon Wegher to carry what will be close to twice the load now.........Pack O'meara, Robinsons replacement, has shown very little year to date and also has had trouble holding on to the ball, which is something that should really concern Hawkeye fans.

The one positive for the Hawks when they have the ball is that Ricki Stanzi now has played back-to-back games throwing no INT's, this after having a pick in EVERY game of his career before this and as much as the media and fans like to bash Stanzi, the kid is probably the best pure passer in the conference and has come up with many big time throws this season. With his entire recieveing corps healthy, he should be able to pass against what is regarded as a horrible Hoosier secondary.

Not only do I like IND to cover this game quite easily, but I also have a SMALL LEAN towards the over in this affair.

    FINAL PREDICTION

    INDIANA 22
    IOWA 27

As the game approaches, I will update any info on the game I come across and answer as many questions as is posed to me in this thead regarding this game.

Lots of small money will be on the Iowa side here, but I've released this play on a few popular forums this morning, thus I would anticipate that the money this will induce on the IND side to offset that..........

Thus, see this line holding steady at +17.5 or possibly hitting +17 at a few places as the game nears.

Your wager isnotnearly as hallarious as it may appear. In addition to Iowa losing it's top RB, Adam Robinson, and starting OL Dace Richardson, starting Safety Brett Greenwood is doubtful. Iowa's offense was one of the worst in the Big 10 going into last weekend, and this certainly does not help matters at all. Indiana needs two more wins to secure a bowl. A win at Penn State is highly unlikely, so they must win two out of three games at Iowa, or at home to Wisky and Purdue. This is a dangerous spot for Iowa, who could be easily looking ahead to their trip to Columbus.

Greenwood is listed as #1 on the depth chart and should start.

I thought Indiana runs a pistol offense, but I guess you could make a case that the pistol is a variation of the spread.

Pretty impressive write-up for a team that lost to Virginia by 40 and barely beat Eastern Kentucky. Also, Indiana is 8th in the conference in scoring offense....far from impressive. Are you Lou Holtz?

Probably the biggest Iowa fan on this board, not a hater in any way, shape, or form.

They are #1 in the BCS computer polls for a reason, they are a rock solid football team with a terriffic punter, a terriffic all-around defense, and have shown the ability to perform offensively when pressed to do so.

Make no mistake about it, this Iowa club is a very, very talented football team in many areas.

I can really see Indiana winning this game. Iowa is barely beating teams. Some of Iowa wins are on the last plays of the game. Indiana has a great chance of winning this straight up.

Guys WATCHOUT...Indiana DOES NOT PLAY WELL against good defenses...They got absolutely hammered by Virginia who has a very good defense (played Georgia Tech very very tough until mid 3rd Quarter) and Ohio State at home when they were +18...If you don't have a good oline to keep your statue of a QB who has very little to no mobility off the ground you have no offense...Iowa has DEFENSE...This is no play for me...

I agree with pick, however the Iowa players lost will not be that big of a deal. They run a zone blocking systems and the freshman back-up isn't too bad.

iowa will not lose, but i dont think that they will win by more than 17. just my input because i really like this line

The back-up you speak of, Brandon Wegher, is also dinged up with sore ribs.

Expect Iowa to throw the ball much more then they normally do.

They will be able to do pretty much whatever they want with Indiana's defense.....not good. And the 8th ranked offense in the league? If this game is close, it's not good for Iowa or their chances in any BCS game.

Fishhead I dont want you to be mad at me about this and Iam glad you give Iowa respect as do I, but 27-22 in not going to happen. I think closer to 35-10 area. Indiana will struggle to score. Dont take Indiana unless you tease it.

Maybe Fish has a hunch... My gut tells me that Iowa is going to struggle against lousy Indiana. My gut is also telling me that Indiana may win straight up as Iowa is looking ahead. Iowa may have problems scoring 17.5 total, let alone covering this spread.

Screw the points, I'm going with Indiana to straight up win. I think this game may come down to the last play.

Obviously you have never been to an Iowa football game.

No less then 1,500 Iowa fans at the Orange Bowl a few years back were denied admission to the game due to being far way to intoxicated.

Perhaps the band of about 80 Iowa misfits that tried to tip over the USC team buses about 3 hours before kickoff tipped off security at the game that they should take action against the more then 50,000 drunk Iowa fans in the parking lot.

I agree w/ the Indiana play - they've exceeded expectations every week.

Other than a horrible 2nd half against Northwestern they've impressed me.

Absolutely no value in Indiana +17.5. In fact, this line likely trends higher.
