Quit now, today, this very moment. After puffing on ciggy's for 33+ years, I quit on Jan 1, 2003. I have this recurring nightmare where I'm laying in a hospital bed and the doctor is standing over me shaking his head, "You quit one day too late." Quit now.

Willie, it is hard for a gambler not to smoke or drink. It is Too stressful. And especially after a meal. Also after sex. Also while taking a shit. Plus with coffee in the morning. Oops I forgot, when driving.

I quit May 9th 1997, really wasnt that hard to do. Man with all the other health issues you said you had the other day, it might be time for a life style change. If you cant make yourself do it for yourself, make yourself do it for your kid, JMO.

My cousin, who is basically my brother, has a baby due in March. The girl is "having a really hard time quitting" and the doctor keeps telling her its not that big a deal. I don't know if I want to punch her or the doctor first.

Paco, I smoked on and off for about twenty years. I quit unsuccessfully about a dozen times then quit in 07' for a year and a half and relapsed up until about five months ago. I don't intend to ever smoke again.
It takes a mental shift to quit and replacing it with something healthier. I use Nicorrette gum as a crutch and it can make quitting a lot easier.
You being 26 it will be hard to quit, just knowing myself at that age, but you can do it. Think of the thousands of reasons not to smoke instead of the few reasons to smoke. Good Luck.

Since Qualcomm removed the "smoking section" which was about 10 feet wide packed with 450 people I have to use that Snus bullshit now at games. Petco (Padres park) lets you walk outside and come back...but the NFL is so weird about that crap. I don't have a problem going without a cig for a few hours but when I'm drinking (which I do heavily at Charger games) I feel I have a right if I'm not bothering anyone else.
The medical industry would go out of business if there was a fool-proof cure for cancer so they designate smoking as the big CAUSE. If this is the case...why do I know these 90 year olds who have smoked 2-3 packs a day since 14, who are still alive? Yet, 22 year olds who have never smoked in their life have cancer? Sorry I don't buy it. It puts a big burden on your lungs just like alcohol does your liver and yes they are far from healthy...but I guarantee you smoking will not kill me any faster than anything else, no matter what any doctor says.

I started at 15, thought the shit was cool. Man was I stupid. I then said I would quit when I got married. Fail. Then I said I would quit after I had my lil girl. Fail.

I didn't start til 18 but I think the "cool" aspect was way before our time. I don't puff and blow, like the "cool kids." I swallow the fkking thing. If you can quit, more power to you. If you don't....just do not blow smoke around your baby girl. Personally, the Ouija board in my closet scares me way more than the pack of cigarettes I will smoke today.

Yeah, it actually is awful...how it does become a necessity. I remember when I used to go to Tijuana drunk out of my mind and would have a cigarette....WOW THIS IS AWESOME. Eventually I'd bum a few more...then actually started buying the things...now if I wake up and don't have one around I'm in hell cause I can't even go 2 blocks to 7-11 without one.

Nah, the smell won't bother her. Just if "second hand smoking" is legit, no need to expose an innocent person (especially a child) to it. My stance is if smoking brings you joy, why deprive yourself of it? So long as it does not affect anyone else. Now if you are pregnant, thats a different story.
I can tell you aren't a radical Muslim just like I'm not a radical Christian. However, this world will end one day, probably sooner than we think.....and whether its Jesus/Allah/or whoever the Jews think is their Messiah...I highly doubt that we will be judged on if we smoked cigarettes or not. Live in the moment.

every time I see one I grab a cig as fast as I can....MTV runs them the most and they are paid more than anyone by the tobacco companies.
Watch an episode of top chef or hell's kitchen...every single chef on there is smoking on camera non-stop. Yet Fox/Bravo get zero from tobacco execs while MTV gets billions to run anti-tobacco ads with random actors. Reasoning is....America is a rebellious nation, the tobacco execs know what they are doing. Tell someone "DONT DO THIS" and they will do it. Show someone else doing it, and they will say "THATS WRONG." Sick world.

You need a vaporizer (The volcano vaporizer) best $450 i ever spent no more "lung butter" i use it for my MJ but it will work for tobacco too. google it there are cheaper versions but go with the best. It will save your lungs.

Obviously..you should quit
But..watch what you are smoking and where you buy them
many cigs todays are stale!
One stale pack of smokes will make you feel more like shit then 3 cartons combined!
One stale cigarette is worse than one full pack as far as making you feel like shit
Stop when you can..Willie Bee is right!
