Default IOWA may have lost their leading RUSHER for the season!!

Freshman Adam Robinson will not play this weekend against Indiana and rumors circulating out of Iowa City are that he may need surgery.

If true, this would make it very difficult for Iowa to run the table from here on out............more so then it was already.

Now fellow freshman Brandon Wegher will have to carry much more of the load, which he may or may not be ready for.

After that, Iowa doesn't have much remaining.

Does any Iowa fan know what is happening with freshman Jeff Brinson, kind of forgot about him these past 2-3 weeks.

I was just remarking in the 1st half of the MSU game how Robinson was turning into a really, really good back...........and now this.

FH you might be familiar with Brinson. I watched him play high school ball a few times for Northeast he's pretty talented and could provide a lift.

I haven't heard much about this. I will wait until later in the week and see what happens then.

    Wait on what?

He was off the two-deeps released just awhile ago at Hawkeye central.

The question is not this game, but whether or not he will be able to return for the Ohio State game in 3 weeks....which if he is headed for surgery on Wednesday, would make it impossible.

Thanks for the info. I didn't see anything on this on the SBRodds injury tracker. I will be very aware of this by the end of the week.

College FB running backs are a diamond dozen.

Some impact but not a ton

I don't think it makes the impact of a good QB like Oklahoma lost this year.

"diamond dozen". LMAO. Fits right in with the sharpest "computor" guy.

He was one of the best running backs in the NCAA as a freshman. Any replacement would not be nearly as good.

I think robinson is better, but its not enough of a downgrade to say no running game now...I think the other guy...W. as i call him as I hate his name..is too concerned about holding onto the ball that he doesn't hit top speed in the trenches... he's gotta get confident...he's always got two hands on the ball.

Watch this weekend you will see what I'm saying yo!

Iowa beat LSU with no running game...didn't we have like 5th string RB most of that year....

    Edit

Following year..it was the 2006 season...lost vs the Longhorns.

I think Robinson was Iowa's last remaining "black" running back.

The news coming from the Iowa camp is that they may have to bring in a kid at RB that is currently redshirting..........ROGERS.

He is allegedly a horse with great potential, but this would be devastating.

By the way, Iowa lost a starting OL for the year in the MSU game also!!

The good news is that Iowa's awesome defense has everyone healthy.

Fishhead your right Iowa's defense is really strong and healthy. They will keep that offense in the game at least.

With a very favorable remaining schedule (Indiana, Northwestern, at Ohio State, Minnesota) they should be able to win the conference without him. Plus, they still have the "freshman sensation (Wegher) from Dakota Dunes!" and O'Meara. If the past few years has taught me anything about Iowa Football (besides the fact that IOWA is probably the coolest name of any state), it's that anyone can play RB in that offense. Remember in '08 when everyone was saying "man ... who is going to replace Albert Young and Damian Sims?" then this year it was "Shonn Greene is irreplaceable, they will drop off and lose games to ___, ___, and ___ on the road". All aboard the fail train! Choo Choo!
