Intertops is offering their own Interpay DC. I just signed up for it, and then decided to read the fine print.
There is a 4% fee for loading the card, and a $2.95 fee per month to carry the card and have an account open?
There seems to be two purposes of this card.
1) Those who want to use a CC and are having their transactions declined at Intertops may not have their transactions declined loading this card. (The only way to load this card seems to be using a CC, and withdrawals from Intertops)
2) This card makes withdrawals easier. Rather than waiting for a check, one can use it at an ATM.
If **** international is allowing debit cards attached to online merchants this is interesting. If they are using an overseas bank from Antiqua, which it looks like they are, there is nothing the US can do about this in the near future. However in the long run they could somehow get banks in the US to block these transactions at the ATM machines but this seems to be aways off.
Not sure if it is worth getting this card with the fees. Probably won't use it to load, just to withdraw.
Same experience with me. I signed up for it and then read the fine print. (I then cancelled it.) For my betting activity at IT it didn't seem like a good value at this point. However, when it comes time for a withdrawal (hopefully there will be one) I will sign up for it then, I think.
The website says there is no fee for using this card. However, after reading the fine print I called CS and said I thought the website was misleading. CS told me blah, blah, blah: that's why they weren't misleading. I know when I've been mislead. Sportsbooks need to be straightforward. This sort of experience makes a person wary.
