Default SBR Bill Dozer reports: Oasis steals portion of player balance

Client Services Manager, agrees that this player did not violate any rules

SBR Bill Dozer reports: Oasis (SBR rating C-) steals portion of player balance. The sportsbook has decided to terminate relationship with winning player, but instead of paying him in full, the book is deducting funds in the amount of $1,000 of already-earned bonuses and retroactively charging him fees for Neteller deposits for the life of his account. These fees amount to $780. Wilson, Oasis’ Client Services Manager, agrees that this player did not violate any rules and that the possibility of sticking players with fees should be noted on the website. Currently Oasis lists free Neteller deposits as an incentive and there is no mention of the potential for these fees to be passed on to the player at a later date.

LOL, so they admit it and feel it's justified, perfect.

if they make a change...change my way too. Oasis confiscated 1700 dollars of earned bonus monies from me before closing my account.

Oasis is in shambles. It was obvious they were cheating players on their bonuses but now they are sticking winners with the cost for DEPOSITS. Would any player keep a balance there knowing that Oasis may decide to deduct the account for a lifetime of fees? I wonder if management will start billing players for the % of bandwidth they used.

This one is sad for both the players and the sportsbook. A few other bookmakers are surprised and have asked me about this. Oasis has always been a respected name in the business and we can only hope for the player's sake this isn't a sign of future problems. I certainly wouldn't play there.

Wouldn't a downgrade be in order here? I don't think rating them F would be too harsh.

Surely it should - this is downright theft.

Well, I must agree with slash. Oasis, busy building a track record of undue confiscation and charges and with little or no intention to accept mediation has the same rating as 777rock, by example, currently backed by Delmar.....

FWIW I have Oasis at 4 (High Risk) and I'm leaning towards a new downgrade. Don't really think this book currently deserves more than a 3 (D-)...

New to the forum and new to sportsbetting...

I'm the guy that this happened to.

I wasn’t a winning player- I actually lost money on the site, including bonuses- Out of an outstanding balance of $15,000, I had only around $12,000 left before the bonus confiscation, meaning I lost $3,000 at the site anyway.

Thanks everyone for your support.

Sounds to me like they are losing money in the sportsbook, and rather than putting the blame with thier linesmen, they are taking it out on the players.
