Default Expekt earns 2nd upgrade in four months

Good to see a book being upgraded instead of downgraded for a change.

Expekt (SBR rating B-) earns 2nd upgrade in four months. SBR has reevaluated Expekt after an increase in positive feedback in recent months, some of which suggesting the SBR rating was too low. Player inquiries to SBR have been addressed swiftly by the bookmaker’s Trading Director, Jon Thompson. Expekt users are invited to continue to submit feedback to SBR.

I recently misplaced a wager on a soccer match with this bookmaker. I inadvertently played a three way handicap when i thought i was playing a true asian. I backed a team to win 1-0 and they lost 0-1. When my bet was not refunded as a push i contacted Expekt complaining of their error. Within 24hrs the manager called me personally to resolve this issue. Not only did he take the time to call but when he did he had already reviewed the screen shots for the bet concerned and when i tried to argue that it was their mistake he politely re-assured me that in fact i had taken the wrong type of wager.
The gentleman then offered to refund half my wager as a goodwill gesture as i think he could sense my sincerity in the matter concerned and that i truly believed i was placing an asian. To me this was something that has endeared this bookmaker to me and goes well beyond any kind of service i have ever encountered.

A good Euro book.I m with them for the last 3 years. No problems here.
The only - is that they limit fast and if you are a sharp player, you will have to deal with their traders.

They just lost a (new) customer... I don't remember using them in the past, so I asked if they could tell me if I had or not. They wanted me to send name, address, email, birthdate and so on to the support for security reasons.

Come on now, only one person in the world has my name, and I might have changed adresses, email address, phone number and so on if I have used them in the past. Why not just answer yes or no?

problably because they want to protect your privacy in case you were not yourself like you claimed, but someone else (your national irs for example, far-fetched example I know)

In case you are not the person you pretend to be you could just tell them the name of another person to find out if this person ever betted at Expekt or not. They make this more difficult for you.

What do you guys think of Expekt's approval process for bets above the limit? Good option for guarding against big steam bets while still taking the limit or unfair advantage?

I don't mind it, they usually approve/decline fairly quickly. Bet365 have a similar (though faster) approval process now, and I seem to be getting more bets accepted there than ever before. One bookie (perhaps Nordicbet?) can take hours to make a decision, that's an unfair advantage. B365, Expekt, Centrebet usually get back to you in ~5-10mins which is ok.

santo, i think you mean unibet, they take half an hour. i never experienced any delay with nordicbet.

from the side of the bookmaker i can see it makes sense, and more and more euro-books are doing it. expekt was always pretty fair to me (i can't play there anymore), others like 10bet it's almost impossible to get anything on anymore because the approval process takes very very long, they often come back with much lower odds, or nothing happens at all and the bet "times" out (perhaps because the trader had to use the toilet or something). obviously i like books that don't refer bets to traders better, but the refer-system in combination with fast decline/acceptance is more customer-friendly than limiting to a few cents in my opinion.

True, Unibet is the worst at this manual approval.. it usually takes up to 40 mins which is insanely unfair. Why not just wait till the kick off. And they almost always decline it anyway unless they have the advantage. Expekt are the best (with Centrebet) .. they can take bigger bets if theres no steam and the decision takes just couple of minutes.

I observed an interesting thing concerning the stake Expekt accepts or not: lets say you want to place 1000 Euro and get the message only 110 would be accepted immediately the rest goes to a trader. Then if you go back and enter for example only 400 Euro you get a message that 275 would be accepted immediately. That means often the more you want to bet the less they accept immediately. So by going back and enter different stakes you can test out what is the maximum you get accepted directly (it doesn't work always but quite often).

Santo,
Do you always know what amount you need to wait for a decision on? I think this can be a better solution than a confirmation delay if it's treated like a phone-in asking for more.

Yep, that's terrible. Being allowed to watch the odds change is the same as watching the start of the match. I suppose if you agree to it it's your own fault. Can you cancel the order?

yes, some bookies take my bets, some don't. expekt did for a long time, but stopped a while back unfortunately.. they told me nicely, paid me my balance, so no complaints.

At Unibet one cannot cancel the order. Before one place the bet one can chose if one only place the money they take immediately or if one want that the rest goes to a trader. Also one can chose either all or nothing would be accepted.

Well, I guess if you can sell nickels for 6 cents, more power to ya.

Yes they tell you that $xxx will be accepted, and $yyyy will be referred to a trader. The accepted bit is final, the referred bit remains pending, and I always get an email (and SMS if requested) saying accepted/declined if I've logged out of the site

It's not Nordicbet, just checked that... it could be Globet or Unibet, I'm not currently funded at either.

Betsson also have a decent system, they don't refer to a trader automatically, but they'll accept $xxx automatically, and if you get on the phone they will get you a decision on the rest fairly quickly.

Expekt are pretty quick and fair with decisions on bets, and often they will accept large bets when the price is shortening. Good bookmaker in my opinion, never had the slightest payment issue either.

I think they far to often allows to small bet, i almost never get anythin more accepted.
And during the latest week i have had $0 accepted over 50% of my bets. So i stopped using them. But never had any payout problems.

I don't understand how anyone could agree to a one-sided bet "option" on anything. It's crazy how good that is for the book. When I dealt with WSEX or Cascade delays, at least I knew that during the waiting period (which could be measured in seconds) I could pull out of the bet the same as them by loading a different page. Of course, it comes down to how they handle it: If they give you anything that isn't a disaster for them, that's one thing. If they decline anything that moves your way at all, and some that haven't moved, that's another.

Expekt, Betsson, Interwetten, Pinnacle, Fonbet and Bet365 have been my favorites. No problems and no misrepresentation.

As for Expekt, Interwetten, Pinnacle & Bet365... super-fast communications to inquiries.

Haven't tried communicating with Betsson or Fonbet yet since there was no need.

Congratulations to Expekt. Well deserved upgrade.

Gotta congratulate Expekt, a good book indeed. Even though I feel like being limited down ridiculously, they have my sympathies in terms of Customer Service and quick payments

Isnt the juice for to Interwetten high?

There are at least 75 books better than fonbet and bet3.65

They are normally quite quick to give you an answer. A few weeks ago on a sunday I requested over the course of the day 5 $10000 wagers. They limited 4 of them to between $500 and $3000, and accepted the 5th for the full amount. The 5th was the only one that won - maybe their trading department isn't that sharp!

They can and do accept some large wagers, but not on soft lines. I don't think that reflects badly on them as a book - at the end of the day they are in business and you have to respect that. When they set out to lay something though they are more often right than wrong, that much I have noticed. And they have inside info on the ATP tour tennis, which some might consider unfair, given that they use the rules "in their favour" so to speak.

All in all I was very pleased to see the upgrade as I thought they were probably the most underrated "good" book on SBR, and some of the company they were keeping in the C bracket was so so unfair on them.

Deposited and withdrawn 5 figure sums via neteller in the past and never had any problems - never waited more than one day for the withdrawals, even when in the region of $25k.
