SPRINGFIELD, Va. - A Springfield, Virginia man is facing an indecent exposure charge after a passerby spotted the man naked in his kitchen and reported it to police.

Eric Williamson, 29, is a commercial diver who grew up in Hawaii and rents home with several co-workers. Williamson told FOX 5's Will Thomas his roommates were not home and he walked into the kitchen to make coffee about 5:30 a.m. Monday.

"Yes, I wasn't wearing any clothes but I was alone, in my own home and just got out of bed. It was dark and I had no idea anyone was outside looking in at me," Williamson said.

The complaint came from an unidentified woman who was walking with a 7-year-old boy. A Fairfax County Police spokesman said officers arrested Williamson for indecent exposure because they believe he wanted to be seen naked by the public.

Officer Bud Walker said officers also consulted the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and they were given the green light to proceed with the charge.

Williamson, who is father of a 5-year old girl, said he feels like the victim.

"I am a loving dad. Any of my friends and anyone knows that and there is not a chance on this planet I would ever, ever, ever do anything like that to a kid," he said.

Williamson is meeting with a lawyer to fight the charge and may attempt to seek damages from Fairfax County Police. If convicted on the misdemeanor charge, he would face up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.

If the guy's got any sense - hopefully not frying bacon in the nude.

Mine is automatic coffee maker. I go downstairs naked and press the button then go up and get in the shower so the coffee will be ready when I'm done.

Keep in mind, a lot of exposure outside is not only overlooked but even encouraged at times.

What do you guys think would have happened if there had been a naked woman ? Would there have been a complaint or authorities acted on it ?

Let me get this straight. Guy is in his own home naked (the way we are all born) and a peeping tom reports him. And he gets arrested??

Guy was probably wondering what the hell was going on when cops came to house and told him he was charged for being naked inside!

So many wrong things with this news !

1. Why the guy didn't wear some underwear ?
2. Why he don't close the blinds if he likes to parade naked in his house?
3. What normal person walks at 5:30 AM with a kid and looks into the people homes?
4. Why the Police didn't just talk to the guy, explain the situation and give him a verbal warning.

I know many of you are saying that what you do in your own home is nobody business...but if you like the privacy of your home then keep private, don't show the world what is going on inside.
A crime is a crime no matter where is committed, showing your genitals in the local Bus or from your balcony, it still indecent exposure.

Like I said, give the guy the benefit of the doubt and make him aware that he needs to to something about the clothing or just buy a $10 set of blinds from Home Depot...but arrest him is definitely insane.

He won't be convicted. The lady and the kids were on HIS PROPERTY when they saw him naked.

I think you are onto something here.

A woman and child were illegally trespassing in between 2 homes where he lives. The woman should have kept her mouth shut. If she wouldn't have been trespassing this would have never happened. Case dropped. He gets paid. She gets trespassing charge.
