Anyone have a sports pager or other service to get scores of games when away from the television.

I went to the Notre Dame - Tennesse game Saturday and the only scores they ever gave were Top 25. I had to call a friend to get updates.

I want to get a sportspager, but I can't justify the cost right now. I've been thinking about it for a while though...

A free scorephone is alright, but most of them are linked to touts and that would give them your phone number.

Internet on a cell phone is another option, but I think calling a friend from the game might be the best way. Its not glamorous, but it works.

I must be the only person on earth who doesn't want/need to know the score of the game. If I was at a live game would just enjoy that game and find out later. I know I am in the minority.

I use the internet on my PDA phone. I'd recommend it. Treo 650. It's like $15 per month for unlimited internet use via Sprint. Also, you can run BetCris or BetWWTS software on it to place wagers if you want.

Nice score on the ND tickets by the way. I went there for undergrad. Must have been a good time, especially the 4th quarter. That is unless you were rooting for Tennessee.

I also recommend the Treo Smartphone. I have the older 600. Thats what I use to check scores. I see the Treo 750 is going to have a windows base OS. I will probably check it out, this one is over 3 years old now.

I have the motorola pager that is free service for life(at least I hope), I got phone internet but it is real slow, I use it to bet at pinnacle sometimes but almost never for scores

Free, no tout, no call-back, it will give you other stuff to like movie listings, etc.

Just say Sports, then NBA, then Bulls for example, it gives score.

everytime i call one of the free scorephones, i have to go thru about a minute or a minute and a half of all the bullshit tout stuff. then after you go thru all there bullshit, sometimes they don't update the scores on time. there are a very frew good score phones out there right now, that have updates every 10 minutes and, the last one i had that updated the scores every 10 minutes shut down.
